Leonard Padilla conducts search of his own in Caylee Anthony case as Tim Miller and TES pull out

November 9, 2008

WFTV Channel 9 News Saturday, November 8, 2008 – updated: 9:58 pm EST November 9, 2008

As EquuSearch begins it’s final day of searching for Caylee Monday morning, bounty hunter Leonard Padilla will be putting his own plan into action

After chasing leads all day Sunday, Padilla says he thinks he has something. He says in August, EquuSearch found a cross made from arts and crafts in Blanchard Park. One of his team members recognizes those materials. She says she saw the same arts and crafts materials in Casey Anthony’s room after they bailed her out of jail.

Sunday morning, Padilla took a photograph of the cross and found the place where searchers discovered it. Padilla says the tree where searchers found the cross hanging is near water. Now, Padilla has assembled a team of divers to search a nearby part of the Little Econ River.“We feel confident enough, we have to, we have to check it out” said Padilla.Padilla’s planned search comes just as EquuSearch’s massive search efforts near their end. . Sunday, about 800 volunteers scoured parts of East Orange County, but after Monday, EquuSearch founder Tim Miller is suspending the search.

The article goes on to say that Tim Miller doesn’t believe Caylee will ever be found and that they are moving on to cases with families that need and actually want their help.  Miller was diappointed in the volunteer turnout and said that the people were just not that interested in helping with the case.

You can read it for yourself here:  http://www.wftv.com/news/17938513/detail.html#-

I certainly hope Leonard is on to something, but I think it’s a long shot. Although, in my opinion, any shot is worth a try.  I, at first thought Leonard was just seeking fame and fortune, but I don’t anymore.  I now think he’s a good man with a very big heart, and he’s really become emotionally involved in this case. I think he wants Caylee found more than anyone.  I don’t know if he’s grasping at straws or if this could be a real lead but,  I hope beyond hope it’s a real lead.

I also think Tim Miller is a really good man but I disagree that people are apathetic about this case.  He had a lot of cooperation from LE, the FBI, and many other resources. A lot of people showed up for the search both days–just because they didn’t reach the magic number that would have made it the search of the century didn’t make it a failure.

I think he’s just tired and very frustrated. Everyone can certainly understand Mr. Miller’s frustration.  The Anthonys have made it very difficult for him and knowing that Casey could end this in a heartbeat makes it all the more maddening.

Deport the dysfunctional, Anthony family. If we can’t throw them in jail for obstruction! this case should or COULD have been solved a long time ago.

It disgusts me to know that little Caylee may have been fed to alligators or that her body was moved. She may never get the respect that she so deserves. I can’t imagine her living with these dysfunctional ppl.

Leonard, thank you from the bottom of my heart for continuing this search. This afternoon, I have been devastated that Equsearch is pulling out so soon. I have been crying and devastated that this little girl was not found and now in my heart I know you will not give up until she is brought home.

My biggest fear is that her body has been moved by the due to the length of time that has been past since the release of the telephone records and it appears that the Anthony’s will do anything to protect Casey.

I pray Leonard P. finds her. I’m still praying their small search tomorrow may find her. Somehow, I wish Congress would shut up about water boarding being torture and let us call Casey a terrorist and let them try it on her. I know it sounds bad, but she makes me so angry and she really thinks she’s gonna get away with this, so does Bozo.

Leonard, Thank you so much for continuing this search. But I think the whole Anthony family will do anything to protect their daughter Casey. I dont trust Cindy, George and of course Lee…I think Lee has been very quiet because he made have or had Caylee’s body moved. Lee is a sneaky as a snake. Cindy will come on the news saying, “”They did not find a body, because Caylee is alive”".. Leonard, the Anthony family will do everything in their power to hide the evidence and protect Casey from jail time..The Anhtony family will even turn their back on their grandaugter, in order to save Casey. Leonard, they may even try to stop or throw a monkey wrench into your search as you get close to Caylee’s remains. In my opinion the entire Anthony family knows where Caylee is buried.. LEONARD DONT QUIT, YOUR TEAM WILL FIND THE REMAINS..Leonard, that tree were that cross was found in Blanchard park could be the landmark or tombstone of were Caylee’s remains are. Caylee’s body could be buried in a bag right next to that tree in a shallow grave or the bag or box container was put in the lake their. BUT I REALLY THINK THAT CROSS ON THAT TREE COULD BE THE BURIEL GROUND OR TOMBSTONE OF WHERE LITTLE CAYLEE WAS BURIED……WAY TO GO LEONARD…Just My thoughts….

Like so many others I was saddened to hear that Equusearch was pulling out – again. Although it’s disappointing, I have to trust that Tim Miller had a good reason for doing so or he wouldn’t have done it. I’d also like to thank Lenny P. for going forward and initiating a search of an area that he feels may lead to finding Caylee. As much as we all love Tim, he isn’t God – he can’t be everywhere at one time so it is really nice to see that Lenny understands that and offers what he can to the search for Caylee – I was actually thinking wouldn’t it be ironic if Lenny’s hunch is right and Caylee is found, found by the bounty hunter that bailed Casey out in the hope that she would lead them to Caylee, which, as we all know, didn’t happen, but in the end and without her help, he found her anyway. Bless you Tim Miller/Equusearch for all that you have done! and may the angels guide and lead you in your search Lenny – Go get her and bring her home!

Leonard Padilla is a decent guy with a good heart. I hope he finds Caylee. As nomoresorrow said, I too pray that angels guide him and his searchers to the right place, and the anguish everyone feels about this baby’s location can finally be resolved. The innocent baby needs to rest in peace in a proper grave. This case is so disturbing.

Well, I guess that the fact that Tim from TES has given up hope that Caylee will ever be found really hit me kind of hard and I’ve just spent an hour and a half surfing the web about this case. I’ve been wondering why he would say that. Well, you know, there seems to be a lot of information I hadn’t seen before. There’s a friend of Casey’s named Kristina Chester, who gave the police a statement saying she thought Casey killed the child and fed her to alligators, maybe in the river where LP is about to look tomorrow. Now, that’s really a revolting thought, but if that were the general consensus, that would explain why TES doesn’t think she’ll ever be found. I lived in Florida half my life. We had alligators in the lake behind my house. This isn’t inconceivable. Once there was an six foot alligator that was dead in the lake and in about 48 hours it was GONE. I asked my neighbour about it and he said probably the other alligators ate it. Well, that might explain why Casey is so very smug and self-assured, but it doesn’t mean she’ll get away with it. Isn’t it strange that her friend would actually say she thought that? I would never have thought that of a friend of mine. I wonder what made that just pop into her head. Hmmm! How disgusting this all truly is. I hope the divers don’t get hurt.

I’m with all of you–So very sad TES called off the search–though I think they are still looking this morning before they pull out.

Leonard is supposed to begin his search at 8:00 eastern time- I don’t know what he could possibly find if alligators got her? I don’t know as I’ve never lived in a place that had alligators. Maybe some clothing? If they don’t find her this morning, I doubt he’ll continue to look. I mean, lets face it, as someone else pointed out on another post, finding her tiny little bones is like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Call me naive but I just don’t think the Anthonys know much more than we do. I think George feels she’s gone just like we do. That’s why George is so desperately trying to hold Cindy up because he knows if the truth does show itself, it will push Cindy over an edge she may not be able to come back from. Lee, I don’t know about him. He seemed to be trying to get information out of her at first to help LE.

I too am sorry that TES is leaving and disappointed at the turnout. I lived 28 years in Orlando and the main reason I left is the lack of true community spirit. All those people, all this media and 3000 O-towners can’t manage to show up. There are many places Caylee could be. She could be somewhere off the B-line. She could be in the lake and fountain at Bella Vita subdivision or behind Sawgrass Apts. Since there seems to be 1 oz of random truth in what Casey says, maybe she did lose her phone for awhile when it was off and she headed to another area to bury the body. For that amount of odor so strong she must have been in the car for quite a few days. Casey makes a comment about aimless driving. Also the heat, the bugs, ants, roaches, vultures and gaitors in every body of water. I think they need to take cadaver dogs back to the land fills. Caylees clothes, or portions have to be somewhere. You could bury a body off Old Chuluota Rd too. It’s almost endless. I wish Padilla would have used alot more psychology on her from day one, didn’t he realise all the contradictory info there was already out on her? I hope and pray he does find her body and he will man a search as long as he can.

Nancy Grace said Tim Miller will be coming back to search and that he’s left a team here to carry on. A reporter said they only searched something like 23 of the 100 sites that were in question.
