Child neglect home visit released in discovery in Casey Anthony case
In the discovery released yesterday was the child neglect services department’s home interview with Casey and Cindy Anthony. There are various forms and interviews within those documents, but the information I found most compelling, were the 4 pages containing the child services representative’s report.
In them, Casey tells her mother to be quiet because this is her chance to tell her side of the story. She says that LE has tried to break her but they can’t. She will never admit guilt as she’s innocent. Cindy was apparently interjecting herself into the conversation over and over again. I wonder why these two women were not interviewed separately? Cindy appears to be so damn controlling that Casey is not allowed to give her side of the story without her mother trying to take charge of the situation. I’m sorry, I know these people are going through hell, but honestly, Cindy Anthony has not helped this situation. I wonder if Casey might have told the truth if it weren’t for her intense concern that her mother would never forgive her? I wonder if Cindy has actually looked Casey in the eyes and said, “I will always love you unconditionally but you have to tell the truth about Caylee. I will be heartbroken, but I will not abandon you. ” If she hasn’t, maybe she should.
Casey says she did not have a falling out with her parents and she was just living with her boyfriend. Cindy states that Casey is a good mother. She said when Zenaida took her child, she looked for her on her own and that when she couldn’t find her SHE WENT HOME AND TOLD HER PARENTS. We all know how that really went down It’s known that Cindy was seeing someone about how to deal with Casey, and that she was advised to seek custody of Caylee before putting Casey out of the house. Obviously, Cindy does not think Casey was a good mother, and she didn’t follow the suggestion of the counselor and try to get custody first. Did Cindy forget all that?
When asked why she needed a babysitter when she wasn’t working, she stated that she WAS working at Universal Studios and they had a record of her work and her pay stubs. Very strange to me that Casey would continue to say she worked at Universal. LE had proved she didn’t work at Universal and had confronted Casey with that fact. It’s almost like Casey didn’t think the various departments compared notes–or maybe, in her mind, the truth only existed as each individual interviewer discovered it.
They both complained bitterly about OCSO and the fact that they weren’t looking for a live Caylee. Cindy was angry there was no Amber Alert. Casey’s actions and the evidence in this case have led LE to seek a murder charge. They looked for a live Caylee until they felt certain she was dead. The grand jury felt the evidence against her compelling and quickly bound her over for trial. As for an Amber Alert–that’s an alert that goes out immediately after the disappearance of a child. Unfortunately, after missing for a month, an Amber Alert was not an option.
Casey stated that she had really enjoyed working with the various missing children agencies and the volunteers, and that this was going to be her new life’s work. This immediately made me think of the interview with Jesse Grund when he said that Casey takes on the persona of whoever she’s with at the time. Really very creepy.
