FBI interviews Cindy Anthony about Casey

November 22, 2008

cindy-interview112108 A big portion of the tapes are Cindy trying to make sense of and spin Casey’s story that someone took Caylee from her. (Although the real spin was my head whirling round and round as I tried to make sense of Cindy rambling on and on, back-tracking, interrupting and not really listening to what the investigator said, over explaining, etc. It’s a mystery to me how that poor investigator managed to sit through hours of Cindy-speak. His body language gives him away every now and then!) But, there are some interesting things there if you can manage to stay focused!

In tape 3, Cindy talks about the stench in the car and there was a glaring statement that conflicts with something she said to the media .  Here she said the guy at the tow yard told them the car stunk and it had been getting progressively worse since it had been there.  He also told her it didn’t smell great when it was brought in. This is a major contradiction to what Cindy has said on tape to media: (This wasn’t the tape I was looking for, but she says it in this one, too. It’s located about 1/2 way through the video.)

On tape 3, she put out the theory that not only was “Zanny” a generic name for babysitter in Casey-speak, but that “Jeff”could have been a generic name for whoever her boyfriend might be at any given time. She insinuates that Amy or Ricardo could have been “Zanny” because she saw a photo of Caylee in a place she didn’t recognize and Casey said it was taken at Zanny’s house.  Later it was discovered that the photo was taken at Ricardo’s.  And if you remember, Jeff was the guy she had “worked ” with and who Cindy said (can’t remember which tape) Casey was going to visit in Jacksonville and was trying to work out a relationship with. I don’t think he -along with Juliet Lewis, even exists. (the two people Casey says she told about Caylee being missing)

On tape 4 Cindy says Casey told Lee the story about going to Blanchard Park and as they were leaving, Zanny’s sister took Caylee and when Casey asked what was going on, Zanny pushed her to the ground and said, “Listen bitch, I’m gonna teach you a lesson.” (no elaboration on what that lesson might have been.) What was interesting about this part of the tape was that Cindy said this happened on June 14. She also said Lee had been studying Casey’s phone records and that there was a distinct change in her phone habits on the afternoon, around 4:00pm, on the 14th–a slew of frantic calls. Cindy thought that was when Zanny took her.  My question is, didn’t the video of Caylee at the nursing home take place on the 15th, and didn’t George say the last time he saw Caylee was on the morning of the 16th?  How positive are we that the date on the video at the nursing home was the 15th? Can a date be manually altered on a video, and maybe that wasn’t when they took Caylee to see her great grandfather?   I thought, the date and visit were corraborated by a nursing home attendant? Confusing.

Cindy also talked about why she thought Casey wouldn’t have just left her car at Amscott and not come back to get it. She felt it was just common sense that Casey wouldn’t do that. (she also felt Casey wouldn’t have put a dead Caylee in her trunk)  Cindy said if it were her, she would have run the car into a lake or something rather than leave it smelling in plain sight for anyone, including herself, to find it. (Cindy would have seen it, as she drives by there every day)

She talks a lot about Casey telling her to go back over all their conversations: where she told her (Cindy) she’d been and what she’d been doing.  Casey was sure Cindy could figure out the truth–because for some reason Casey couldn’t just come out and TELL her the truth.  And poor Cindy–she had been racking her brain going over every detail of their conversations–picking out anything and everything that she could twist into something that would make sense. (But, sadly, it doesn’t make sense to anyone other than Cindy.)

The interviewer tells Cindy she needs to try and be objective, and Cindy agrees, but she is as far away from objective as a human being can be.  I hope she watches these tapes and really looks at herself.  It’s so obvious that she is unable to see what’s been staring in her face.  Casey is playing some sick game with her mother.

The tapes are below:

Tape 1

Tape 2

Tape 3

Tape 4

Cindy is not lying for once when she says, “the apple does not fall far from the tree” in the first tape.

I’d forgotten about that, Robin. Yes, I agree!

Well I skimmed through all of Cindy’s so far. Did she say anthing? All she did was talk in circles. She seems like she is trying to confuse everyone with going back and forth and her crazy ideas. In fact she could discount everything Casey told her minutes later in a different part of the conversation. The more bizarre it got, the more it made sense to her about the pieces coming together. Very strange. It’s like Casey is doing a riddle with her or a treasure hunt. I am almost thinking for a moment that first day Cindy found Casey, she believed Caylee was dead. Then she went into the survival mode with these crazy theories like she is living in a murder mystery book. Cindy is definately not living in the reality. She is in this made up fairy tale land and running in complete circles. How’s that for an armchair psychologist. Sorry to any psychologists out there.

I think the same thing. I don’t think she’s trying to confuse anyone–I think SHE’s confused and trying to make the puzzle pieces fit–only they don’t, so she’s forcing them to fit by sheer will. Very sad.

I think she cant grasp on to anything because she is lost and confused..She throws things out there because she wants something to fit in to this. She went through to many emotions all at once.I would of lost it my now…She is having a hard time with dealing with all that has happened and I tell you I would never want to walk in her shoes.I hope one day there is some peace in this family.Casey has destroyed her family and I dont think it will ever be the same for the Anthonys again. They loved there daughter and they loved there grandaughter and they have lost them both..What Casey has done is unforgivealbe.Very sad ..

Thank you, Mystery, you are saying just the same things I am thinking. After I finally got all tapes listened to, I went back and first commented on your last post.
When I heard that Casey had told her mother, “Think about it, Mom, you’ll figure it out,” that was it for me. I have no more pity for Casey left. For all those who would like to personally administer the death penalty, well, you’ve got my blessing.

I still think Caylee’s was probably an accidental death, but Casey’s cruelty to her Mom is no accident. I don’t care how much everyone dislikes Cindy, she didn’t deserve to be tortured like this.

I mean, I know you can’t expect any empathy from a sociopath like Casey, but how about gratitude? How about respect? How about just enlightened self-interest, since Cindy is currently the only human being still convinced of her innocence…

What is really scary is that she is a nurse and supposed to take care of people. Where does she work again????? I’ll stay clear of there.

Oh, I forgot, she does not have to work anymore, she sold her soul to the devil!

Trensota, When you raise your kids to be self entitled, narcissistic, lying, stealing, narcissistic scum! then how do you exoect them to have respect, consideration, compassion,LOVE for others or even pity?

I know you & I differ on a good prison ass kicking for Casey BUT! it’s never too late for someone to put a bully back into their place.

I just got back from shopping and from what I see out there for parents & children 😦 I’m sorry to say that there will be many, many more Casey’s. Very few kids are raised with manners, respect or consideration these days.

As for Cindy, it’s time for her to wake up. Covering for Casey is disrespectful to Caylee who had to pay the biggest price for raising a f-up like Casey.

I’m sorry but Cindy’s whole interview is a red flag… that Casey is a lier, and you can’t make sense of a sociopath.

That’s good, VegasSusie! I really got sick of hearing her say ‘red flag’, I wonder how many times she said it?

How Casey can sleep at night knowing what she is putting her family through just blows me away. I don’t care if she’s a sociopath or not, she can visually see what is happening to her mother. We’ve watched Cindy as she’s withered away–Look at pictures of her face 4 months ago and now–she’s aged years. Cindy is driving herself crazy trying to figure out the clues that are right in front of her–

I couldnt agree more mystery. Its all right in front of her but she wont admit it..She looks like she is ready to break..Casey dont care what she has done to her family,if she could harm her own child.I doubt she cares what Cindy is going though. After everything Casey has done the sickest part of it all Cindy still defends her.Personally I think Cindy and George allowed her to run the show for a very long time.Makes me wonder if they feared her.It seems they all shoved everything that went on in that family under the rug.To many wrongs that they never tried to make right. This whole case as been the far worst one I think I have ever heard. So many lies from all of them..You would think they would want Cayee found dead or alive .Alive would be wonderful but I really dont believe thats the case.If nothing else they should want Caylee to be found so she can be brought home to be given a proper burial.I dont get this family.

This is the first time that I have had to start listening to the Cindy tapes. I have already listened to Georges. I have only completed tape 1. Wow!! I agree with the others that she just keeps going in circles, and she never shuts up. I love how she says that Casey is the perfect mom. Yet wasn’t Cindy getting ready to take over custody of Caylee? So you know that’s BS. Casey has Cindy wrapped around her little finger. I also saw the fidgeting of Cindy as a “red flag”(sorry-had to say that). She keeps moving in her chair, grabbing her face, rubbing her legs. All signs of guilt. I don’t get the 2 stories that Casey tells of the kidnapping. One to police at Sawgrass then the other in the park. Casey telling Cindy to listen to what she says she’ll figure it out sounds like a stall tactic. Back to the tapes, ugh!

In the 3rd tape, I find it strange that Cindy smelled that rotten smell, thought it smelled like a dead body then when she finds that Caylee is missing doesn’t automatically assume that the smell could be Caylee. I don’t buy that at all. Also, anything that happened that was odd, like that or why Amy was told she could move into the Anthony house, when the interviewer asked Cindy if she confronted Casey about any of it Cindy just keeps saying no it wasn’t an issue. What?? Wouldnt’ Cindy have a ton of questions for Casey about finding Caylee?? Her scenerio about Amy being Zanny and Jeff being the code name for boyfriend and Jennifer being Ricardo etc, I am so dizzy, why couldn’t Casey just tell Cindy face to face what the deal is why everything in code? Such BS. I am just stunned.

I know. Doesn’t bode well for Cindy in my opinion. Some of the documents released last weeks suggest Cindy was doing anything but helping LE. There are also some rumors flyin’ that she may be charged for obstruction, but NOT for the hairbrush–something else. Nothing would surprise me with George and Cindy at this point. I think Cindy could end this in a nano-second if she really wanted to. I’m no longer feelin’ the pain for her and George. There’s something really odd going on here.
