Utility worker that possibly discovered Caylee called in 3 previous tips
The sheriff’s office said Thursday that the meter reader had been to the scene before and had called police about the area in August. Now there are suddenly a lot more questions than answers in the case against Casey.
Investigators interviewed the meter reader at length about what he knows, but he is not considered a suspect in any way.”He is not a suspect in this case,” Nieves said early Thursday evening. “He is a credible witness and we consider him so at the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.”The sheriff’s office said he had called in tips about the exact same area to Crimeline and the sheriff’s office three times in August, two weeks before Tropical Storm Fay hit and flooded much of Central Florida, including the area where the remains were found last week.
The sheriff’s office said it is focusing on its own deputy who came out on August 13, the third day the county meter reader had called about seeing something in the area. The sheriff’s office said the meter reader is not under suspicion and is calling him a concerned citizen. It’s unknown what the area looked like on August 11, the first day the meter reader called that he had seen something in the area and it’s not clear exactly what he had seen at that time.
The sheriff’s office is investigating the deputy who came out and cleared the scene on the 13th of August. They aren’t releasing the name of that deputy, but the officer is under administrative investigation.Sheriff’s Captain Angelo Nieves said the meter reader called Crimeline and the sheriff’s communications center in August and came back last week because he had a nagging feeling that it was the place to look. “He called on the 11th, the 12th and the 13th,” Nieves said. “Currently, we are following up on that sequence. “One source close to the case does not believe it’s a huge setback, because of the confidence in the evidence that’s been found. Obviously, though, the sooner you find evidence the better and it must be disheartening to everyone who has worked so many longer hours, at taxpayers’ expense, to try to find the remains.
Today it was discovered the utility worker who discovered a child’s remains near Caylee Anthony’s grandparents home last week phoned in 3 tips about the same area to authorities in August!
Orange County sheriff’s Capt. Angelo Nieves said the utility worker, who was reading water meters when he made the discovery, phoned in the tips on consecutive days — Aug. 11, 12 and 13 — saying he saw a bag on the side of the road. The area the worker was referring to is the same area where he later found the skull.
A sheriff’s deputy responded to the area after one of the tips but cleared the scene after a brief visit in which the bag was apparently not located. Nieves said the sheriff’s office is investigating the deputy’s response. The meter reader is not considered a suspect in the case, Nieves said.
So what does all this mean? Who is this guy? The police are investigating and are saying he is a credible witness according to Fox news. “We still believe it’s credible. Despite the erroneous info from earlier without a doubt, he is not a suspect and a credible witness.” said Detective Nieves. Nieves said the area was searched on August 13, but doesn’t know yet how thoroughly.
He asked they check this area and now stumbles on this bag in the woods? That’s just beyond coincidence under normal circumstances. Was he just checking out his own tip? Was this really just a coincidence? Is this man somehow involved?–according to police apparently not. I just hope police can provide some convincing proof cuz can you imagine how Bozo and the gang will spin it? And I must say I wouldn’t blame them at this point.
