Baez objects to prosecution’s motion to put restrictions on the autopsy photos of Caylee Anthony
Casey Anthony’s attorneys objected to a state motion to withhold three discs showing Caylee’s remains. A hearing has been scheduled for Thursday at 1:30 before Circuit Court Judge Stan Strickland in the OC Courthouse. The discs, showing xrays and photos of Caylee’s body were to be delivered to the defense under court order, but in a motion filed today, Orange-O
sceola State Attorney’s Office asked the judge to impose extra stipulations for their release.
Brad Conway, the Anthony’s attorney, met today with the prosecution at the state’s attorney’s office for an hour, and according to him, the most important issue he was there to discuss were the xrays and autopsy photos the prosecution has yet to release to the defense.
“They(Anthonys) want to put this little girl to rest with dignity and respect and they want to do this as soon as possible BUT they are being held up by legalities that have to occur.” said Conway.
Is the inference here that the real reason Caylee has not been buried yet is—- the prosecution’s fault?
What are those “legalities” Mr. Conway is talking about? Well, the Anthonys can’t bury Caylee until the defense does their 2nd autopsy. (what exactly is the point of the second autopsy? Someone enlighten me?) And, if they must do one, why not just go forward with it and compare it with the 1st autopsy reports at a later date? I mean, they do have the self-proclaimed greatest forensic scientist in history on their team, (that would be Dr. Henry Lee).
Assuming the defense has a good reason to do a 2nd autopsy, they are saying the reason it has not happened yet is because the prosecution has decided to put some stipulations on the defense’s request for the release of those X-rays and photos from the 1st autopsy. And there it is–the REAL reason for the hold up in burial arrangements. The prosecution is the reason Caylee’s funeral is being held up because they won’t give the defense what it wants.
What possible reason could the prosecution have for not giving that nice Mr. Baez what he wants? Well, it seems the big bad prosecution wants to make sure no one, NO ONE, can sell those pictures and xrays to the media–like some people did with the live pictures of Caylee before her body was found. The state says that substantial licensing fees have been paid for images and video of a live Caylee. They want the judge to put extra restrictions on the discs of the remains before they turn them over to Mr. Baez. They don’t want Baez to reproduce the images of a deceased Caylee, period. They also want to restrict who Baez can show the pictures to.They don’t want Caylee exploited any further. They want assurances that won’t happen.
Pretty good reasons IMO. So, okay, defense, what’s the problem???? Why object? Is it because you –or someone close to this case is planning on doing just what the prosecution is trying to keep from happening?
So, it’s back to court they go, this time in a tug of war over the 1st autopsy particulars. All of which will take more time……and still Caylee waits.
Simple solution: Defense agree to the prosecution’s terms. Problem solved. Caylee could be laid to rest by the end of the week. JMO!
