Brad Conway files motion to keep George Anthony’s suicide note out of document dump, and spokesman for State Attorney’s Office hints that the death penalty is not absolutely off the table

March 3, 2009

George Anthony’s suicide note is included in the 1000 pages of discovery to be released by the State Attorney’s office.  Their attorney, Brad Conway, is trying to stop the note from being released to the public.

Tuesday afternoon Conway filed a Motion to Restrict Disclosure on George’s behalf, saying the family does not want the note released and that it has nothing to do with the State’s murder case against Casey Anthony.

“In the event it’s relevant in some way,” Conway said. “The court can then take a look at it at a later date. And if it’s relevant and disclosable at that point. But there is no purpose for it coming out now.”

According to sources, there is going to be a hearing next Thursday. Conway’s motion could be addressed then.

On another note, the state could still choose to seek the death penalty before the murder trial of Casey Anthony begins in October according to a spokesperson with the State  Attorney’s Office.

On December 5th the state released a statement saying, “It is not in the best interest of the people of the state of Florida” to pursue the death penalty against 22-year-old Casey Anthony.” This was before Caylee’s body was found.

There were reports this week that the State would not reconsider the death penalty and that Casey would face a sentence of life in prison. But tonight, spokesperson Randy Means said that,  “They are preparing the case before them and nothing has changed. And the penalty they are seeking has not changed but this is “not a predictor of the future.”

Haven’t we already seen the content of  George’s note?  Did we not see all of it?  Whether we have or not, I agree with Brad Conway.  It has nothing to do with the case unless it reveals pertinent information having to do with Caylee’s disappearance, Casey’s guilt, or his admission of some sort of cover-up.

As for the death penalty, I would be shocked if they put it back on the table, and personally, I would rather see Casey sit in jail for the rest of her life.  The best punishment ever for someone like her!

    Hi Mystery
We have become spoiled in this case. Being able to read much of the State’s case we don’t get very often. I agree if it is pertinent to what you outlined above the letter doesn’t need to be released. I don’t care about Casey’s pics either. I would like to see some more forensics and interviews.

I think Casey told several of her friends that about Lee. It’s never been verified and I seriously doubt it’s true.

    Hi Stephanie!
I agree with you. I would rather see more forensics (in particular what was in the Gatorade bottle and was there or was there not a partial print on the duct tape)

I don’t think we need to know about the content of George’s note. I believe that the jury should get to see the note.

I am at the point where I don’t believe the attempt was genuine. I think it’s a pity ploy to get the public to feel some sympathy for the Anthonys.

I’m not saying he’s not seriously depressed over all this, he SHOULD be. So should Cindy. But I don’t believe they are fragile and they are living their lives strictly to get their daughter off, so they don’t have to live with the fact that she killed Caylee.

If a jury finds Casey not guilty, they can continue to live with the fantasy that someone else did it. It’s less painful for them that way.

Even when they find her quilty as sin, they will continue to believe the easier story.

I can’t say I wouldn’t be tempted to do the same.

But I’d never had behaved the way these people have from day one.

stephanie I agree with what You said.
I really don’t care about the Pictures and I have no need to read G.A. Suicide Note.
If the Prosecutors find Value in those Pictures in their Case against C.A. than that
    is their Decision.
In the End it won’t be the Pictures which will make a Difference in Ms. Anthony’s
Verdict, it will be All the other Evidence presented by the State.

The Suicide Note needs to be kept private, it is of no Value to the Case, therefore not necessary to be made public. JMO

Even if they did seek the death penalty and she were to be found guilty she would spend the next 20 – 30 years on death row with all the appeals and such.
Let’s just get to the trial and let the outcome play its course. If Casey is put in general population I doubt she will survive because her lying would get her into trouble. I doubt they will put her in general population even after the trial if she is found guilty.

I agree that the suicide note should be kept private. If it is determined that there is relevance within the note, then perhaps but I don’t believe it should be released now. Also, as much as I feel that Casey is guilty, I do not believe the release of all of the photos is necessary, frankly. They should have been culled and only those pictures which were taken after Caylee went missing should have been included. Sometimes I wonder if all this accessibility to documents in this case doesn’t work in favor of the defendant, in that some people will feel sympathy for her because it seems like overkill. I don’t want anything to keep her from serving a life sentence, IMO.

Florida’s wait on death row is 12 years. They can put this back on the table but I think the DA is rather silly to put it on and pull it off so often during the pretrail phase. They should just decided not to bring it up again until they have decided once and for all that it will or will not be charged as premeditated murder of a child under 12. If it’s Felony Murder she gets life without parole and death comes naturally enough.

I don’t care about the suicide note even if it did mention something relevant to the case. It can always be discounted on cross because the person who wrote it was under the influence of drugs and booze. It will be thrown out. George’s Grand Jury testimony is credible and if it wasn’t for him Casey wouldn’t be where she is today.

  9. March 4, 2009 12:52 pm

Agree with casey pictures as we have the ones seen already that show her partying while supposedly searching for her missing child and those are good ones to show the jurors what she was really up too. Conway not wanting the suicide note made public has my curiosity up. I had read George said in it casey was innocent but he made a remark about her friends in it and i forgot exactly what i read he said, something on the lines, but was not so sure of the friends, if it is true he wrote that. There must be something up or either my mind is so suspicious of the A’s one and how can it not be? Lee at his deposition was appalling. Whatever did that moroon find so funny?

I don’t care about George’s suicide note..but if it is relevant to the case then it should be released..I doubt he wrote anything that would be that important..he had no intentions of going through with the act..therefore he wasn’t going to put anything in writing that would harm himself or the is filled with more LIES ..written or oral..they don’t know the truth.

I just read on another blog that in George’s note that he wanted to go buy a gun to teach Casey’s friends a lesson. For some reason I believe this is probably where the JB Park and her now so story came from about the lesson. You know she takes bits and pieces of everyones life and spins it into her own, so maybe this is where the Zanny the Nanny was going to teach her a lesson. But who knows what she is thinking.

Everybody that ever slept with Casey better get prepared. I think the defense figures if they throw enough s— on the wall, some of it will stick! First it was Zanny the Nanny, she left Caylee with Zanny at Sawgrass apartments, no wait, Zanny took Caylee from her at Jay Blanchard Park, no wait, Jesse Grund might have had something to do with her disappearance, no wait, it might have been Richardo. Everything but the truth comes out of her mouth. She’s like the little boy who cried Wolf too many times, if she ever did tell the truth, who could believe her? Poor little Caylee, she deserved so much better!

From a total investigation of this case, I’ve concluded she’s innocent,” Macaluso tells reporter Adam Longo. “I’ve concluded that she is innocent,” Macaluso repeats.
Macaluso describes himself as an expert on technical matters and also tells Longo: “The prosecution has no evidence in this case. The only evidence in this case that is called evidence is information that’s been leaked out to the public by sources close to the investigation, by sources involved in the investigation. And there’s been a lot of misinformation.”
Macaluso “this California power attorney” and hinted that some of the defense team’s strategy “between now and the trial just might knock you off your couch

Are you shocked at the number of men who jump to Casey’s defense? He may be an expert on technical matters but he is no judge of what a good mother would be expected to do, and would do, when her child disappears. If we believe even a small part of her story, it does not make sense. My baby girl is missing so I think I will buy beer and party. No use to call the cops, because, if we believe her, Caylee or other family members might be harmed. So I will just put on my party clothes and go have fun, as soon as I cash those checks I stole from my best friend. Well, it didn’t work anyway did it? Of course not, because she (Caylee) was already dead. It worked out fine for Casey for awhile anyway and the longer the poor little childs body lay in the woods, the more forensic evidence was destroyed. Think maybe Casey gambled on that since being a ex cops child, she probably knew some things about forensic evidence?

I think Casey Anthony is a true sociopath through and through. I don’t think she planned the perfect murder but she did plan to confuse, blame someone else with impunity and wait for the time that she could “be with that little girl, home with my family.” She could go on and on about who she thinks killed her child but her circle of friends won;t tolerate it. They know more about her and I am sure they have told the Police and FBI.

What do they know that we don’t? Is there DNA on that duct tape? Do Casey’s prints need to be on the duct tape to implicate her? Wasn’t she the last person to see this child alive? We know Zanny never met her?

Where are all the other Zanaida Fernandez Gonselez’s in the state of Florida? Where are all the other ZFG’s who were maligned as a result of Casey Anthony’s blame game. Where are you? Do you live in New York City? Are you from North or South Carolina?

The suicide note was discussed in general but not in detail. The Police Chief who escorted George to the psyche ward personally did news presser and stated he had seen the pages but would not discuss what was in them.

IF the suicide note referenced Casey’s complicity in Caylee’s murder and/or her parenting in general, it will become evidence in the trial.

The various news reports claim the note was 6-8 pages . . .that’s not a typical suicide note (most are 1 paragraph and most suicides do not leave notes at all)so it’s rather obvious George was venting and probably writing of “history” which has the defense’s sphincters imploding to avoid the contents at trial let alone avoid the Sunshine Laws publication of it that their state functions under.

Am bemused at Casey’s team and her family demanding that the laws of the state in which they chose to live to do not apply to them.

Sorry for double posting: there is something very vile in the dynamics of the entire Anthony family. We’ve witnessed months of both children openly ruling and manipulating George and Cindy.

Lee’s instructing the parents to not provide DNA and lie detector tests which both Cindy and George had already agreed to provide …

and the parents submission to Casey in all things no matter what they’ve learned from the police as to what Casey had to say about them (via interviews with Casey’s “friends”) … we witness George in the jail house tape(s) tell Casey “she’s the boss” …which came after the interviews of Casey’s friends who reported to the police Casey had told them George and Lee both had been sexually abusing her, etc. AND of course the endless Casey-stories of Cindy, her mommy dearest.

So basically as Augie points out – Casey and Lee are “holding something over the heads” of George and Cindy which causes both parents to be sock puppets to those two kids of theirs.

Even Cindy’s wealthy brother in Florida intimated something about those weird dynamics in the parent/child issues in his email communications with Cindy.

At the time – recall – the brother was still furious that Cindy/George had allowed Casey to get away with the $40,000 theft of the grand parents(and others) monies the Anthony’s have allowed Casey to skate responsibility to avoid criminal charges of which Cindy had asked her brother to financially cover to keep Casey out of jail.

She exhibits so many traits of a sociopath. I googled the word and came up with following: It is a Profile of the Sociopath and is very chilling. It might be best for George and Cindy if they could say, “I gave birth to you and I love you, but you are on your own now and responsible for what you did and will do in the future.” It must be very, very difficult to be the parent of a sociopath and to even admit that you have a child with those traits would be heart breaking. Somethings are best left up to God because they are beyond our understanding and beyond our help. Little Caylee needed to be protected from her own mother and the warning signs were not understood or were ignored. No one wants to believe that a mother could harm her own child. There is evil in the world and sometimes it has a pretty face.

    The DOC DUMP:

So… we have Lee’s recent deposition stating the first time he ever heard of Zenaida “Zanny the nanny” was when the police were being called to report “missing Caylee” . . .

and in a meeting with Tony Lazarro …who was cooperating with police and WIRED when talking to Lee Anthony: Lee states to Tony Lazarro that Zenaida had been to the Anthony home.

No wonder Lee hired an attorney.

THEN the docs report: Baez and Casey-kins were sharing a licorice stick “like in Lady and the Tramp” eating it together face to face during jail house meeting. Guess he didn’t get enough of her in those 6-8 hour law office visits. Baez wife must be a tolerant woman, no?

THEN we have the PI Hoover spilling the beans in ways that say Cindy “ain’t no lady” . . . and very touchy feely with the men folk involved in the investigations. (gotta’ say, we here at home have noticed her constant rubbing/stroking of the men folk no matter where, who and when on TV).

Still no definitive answer about the duct tape. Were there any prints and were they Casey’s?

George’s suicide not would be relevant I think if he accuses some of her friends of doing something to Caylee, or if the buying of the gun to teach her friends a lesson (what the h#ll kind of lesson would he be teaching them? A shooting lesson? How to handle a gun lesson? To threaten them? What?

I think the story about the licorice was either Dominic Casey trying to impress Hoover with his “inside” relationship with Baez, or Hoover made it up. I had heard elsewhere the story about Cindy and D. Casey having an affair. I thought it was just gossip and there was no proof. I still think that.

I have to say Macaluso has my curiosity aroused when he “hinted that some of the defense team’s strategy “between now and the trial just might knock you off your couch”

Lee Anthony is not the father of Caylee. This has been proven with DNA testing and it was released in the document dump on February 18, 2009.

Here’s a link to Lee’s DNA test results:

just click on it and it will take you to the document. Go to page 62. (at the top left of the page there are the page numbers, click to page 62.

the document states the following: Based on the STR typing results, DNA obtained from the speciman Q18-1, (Caylee Anthony) could not have originated from a biological offspring of the individual represented by speciman K9 (Lee Anthony)
