New OC Sheriff puts a lock-down on leaks in the Casey Anthony case

March 14, 2009

Information in the Caylee Anthony case may not be as forthcoming as it has been in the past according to the OC sheriff’s office.  Personnel there are being told to stop the leaks to the media.  “We are not going to lose cases because of loose lips,” Sheriff Jerry Demings said on Friday.  “If it’s active criminal information, don’t get caught leaking.  If you get caught, it’s going to get treated seriously.”

A lot of the coverage in the Caylee Anthony case has been attributed to “anonymous” sources, lawyers speaking “off the record”, psychics, bounty hunters, and internet sleuths.  Jose Baez has complained loudly about all the leaks saying they were unfair and prejudicial.  It all came to a head when news stations disclosed information about the jailhouse surveillance video showing Baez and Casey Anthony after the remains of a child were discovered near the Anthony house. Baez has filed motions to stop that video as well as an earlier one of  Casey hyperventilating after first hearing about the skeletal remains.

Sheriff Demings said he’d never seen anything like the continuous stream of information being leaked in the Anthony case in his 21 years at the Orlando Police Dept and he’s doing everything in his power to put a stop to leaks in this case and others.

Well, I would rather not have access to any “anonymous source” information no matter how interesting we may find it, than to have Casey Anthony walk away scott free.

I’m with you on that one Mystery…in other cases there is never this amount of info out there and all gets along quite well..we can still talk about the case and give our opinions…nothing is worth the chance on KC walking away from this…maybe this is Dumbo’s reason for throwing it out there while saying it should not be released to the public…we have all been wondering about that?? JMO..

Yes, I think Bozo has done his share of leaking, too.

He leaks like a collander. He also claims discovery is a leak too. That’s the prosecution’s leaks. I don’t want to see her walk. I do think maybe we will see him leaking more.

Can this hurt the state’s case at all; I mean, basically confirming on camera that LE is responsible for the leaks? Cuz that would suck…

I was just watching geraldo and he had Michael Baden on talking about Anna Nichole Smith but he slipped and said they found chlorphorm in Caylee’s hair. opps leaks from the defense

LVSUSIE…I saw that too…glad that it confirms chloroform…I wonder if Bozo will say it is junk science?

I saw that, too. Remember, hair was what held the duct tape to the skull–they had to cut it to remove the tape. There was hair found around the skull. That’s a lot of hair to test on–as opposed to the one lone hair they found in the trunk. Biden slipped. He also said that you can go back a year and test the hair in time increments to determine if there were drugs over a long period being used and what kinds. Caylee’s hair may end up to be the most incriminating of all!

OMG! You guys, serious BOMBSHELL! Read this, I think cindy is screwed! I’m kinda speechless, just read this:

I am so happy to hear about the chloroform evidence being found in the hair. So very sad that it happened but happy that there is forensic evidence to help convict her killer. As surely as Abel’s blood cried out to God from the ground after he was murdered by Cain, little Caylee’s evidence cries out to us. Her murderer thought they were so smart, letting her body lay there and rot but all the time the evidence was being preserved. She is safe with God now but God will not let her death go unpunished. “Vengeance is mine. I will repay”, saith the Lord. Someone is responsible and someone will pay. I think everyone hopes the one responsible will pay in this life but if not, there is a Judgement day coming and I for one would not want to be in that person’s shoes.

Hi ostella–I just read their first installment. If it wasn’t stuff that belonged to Caylee it could mean nothing, but if it can be tied back to her, it could mean everything. Interesting that it was the same officer Cain. Would explain why Bozo was so anxious to depose him and spent so much time with him.

Mystery, a few things really stand out to me:
    1. remeber Casey’s snide comment “they haven’t even found her clothes yet”? Is this the bag she was referring to?
    2. The Fathers day balloon. Remember the big blowout with cindy was on Fathers day, and many speculate Caylee may have been killed that night.
    3. What was this guy doing poking through potential evidence, and bringing it to the suspect’s family to handle? Why didn’t he just go to the police right off the bat with his concerns, and say “go look at this bag in the woods…” This doesn’t pass the sniff test. I call shananigans.
    4. When did Jim Hoover approach the Eqqusearch volunteer and say he thought Caylee was in those woods across from the school? Remember that? I need to go back and verify, but I think it was in late August? I could be wrong, I’m gonna go research it, but if I’m correct, the timing is remarkable.

    Cindy is putrid.

Ok, so I looked it up, and it was November 8th when Hoover approached the Equisearch volunteer. That’s still before Dominic Casey told him (supposedly) that Caylee was in the woods…

    This whole thing stinks.

    Red flags everywhere…

I agree. Lotsa red flags here. Too many coincidences……. Not just with Casey but with this guy. Who the heck is this guy?? And you’re right, why in the world would he have taken the stuff to Cindy, and when she said she didn’t recognize what was in the bag, why would he take it back out there–and why would Cain leave it all there? Obviously, Cain thought it was just garbage.

Why wouldn’t Cindy have asked to see the clothes, shoe, etc.? Is that why she sent her PI’s into the woods 3 months later????? It will be interesting to see who this guy talked to about taking the stuff to show Cindy….. Wonder if it was Lee.

sorry thecla! I forgot to respond to your post. I think without a doubt, God’s vengence will take place here on earth as far as Casey Anthony is concerned. Obviously, more and more stuff has come out, plus there is so much LE has not revealed. IMO, she’s toast.

This case is getting more weird by the day! I think this Keith Williams should be checked out VERY CLOSELY, and made to take a
polygraph. Something is terribly wrong here. The fact that he took
this to Cindy and not the police just doesn’t make sense. So many LIES, and so much deception. It’s almost unreal. Personally, I think the Anthonys have known Caylee was dead since they realized the “smell of a dead body in the car”…and saw the maggots. That’s when Cindy started doing damage control to save her murering daughter.

I agree, but found this interesting as well. Keith would have to be Kiomarie’s brother wouldn’t he? He mentioned his little sister was a childhood friend of Casey’s and they used to bury their pets there. Is Kiomarie married? Her last name is Cruz isn’t it? His is Williams. I do think the Anthonys have known Caylee was dead from the beginning. Don’t know if I buy that story though.

Kiomarie’s name is Torres-Cruz. Cruz is her married name. He said his sister’s name is Alison. It’s the first I’ve heard of him or his sister.

I now believe they both knew from the beginning, too. I think Lee did, too.

Thank you for your response. I hope if she is guilty, and it surely looks like she is, it will be brought out in court, so there is no room for doubt.
ostella, You are right! I remember when Casey made that remark about Caylee’s clothes and I thought at the time it was a strange remark for her to make.
All this other coming up is just too bizarre. I don’t understand why this Keith person would take potential evidence to Cindy? Is everybody nuts there? Why wouldn’t the cop turn it in even if he thought it was just trash? I would think anything found that close to where a child disappeared, would need to examined. I don’t mean to offend anyone, but maybe they need more women on that police force. 🙂 Another thing, I just can’t get my mind around why her family continues to support her without any reservations. It seems like when they went to sleep at night, they would hear Caylee’s sweet little voice singing. Sorry, but it just blows my mind!

Another oddity: Keith says he removed/dislodged the bag to bring it to Cindy for inspection, then brought it back to its original spot in the woods. But Cain said that weeds and roots were growing thru the bag, which led him to believe it had been there for some time, and was just trash… So was he just fudging it on the incident report, or were there roots and weeds growing thru the bag when he saw it? If the latter is true, then Keith’s story about taking it to Cindy is obviously BS… God, this case is freakin wierd…

I wonder if it is just an attempt by “friends” of Casey to say the crime scene had been contaminated and any evidence found with the body is “suspect”? Maybe they should give Keith a lie detector test? And Cain?

thecla…that was my first thought when I read it, now they can say the site was or is contaminated. Anything to make reasonable doubt.

I wont believe Keith’s story until it is 100% clarified.

If Bozo sticks with the Zanny theory it wouldn’t matter when the bag was put in the woods.

If Bozo uses accidental death where will he say Casey {or someone} put the body???

If Bozo tries to prove that Casey was in Jail when the body was placed in the woods…who is he going to say put it there???

He can’t have his cake and eat it too…maybe he will say that Zanny contacted Roy Kronk & told him where to find the remains…who knows what fantasy he may try????

    Does anyone have any theories????

We’ll have to hear “part 2” of Blink’s story about this guy and see who it was he told about taking the bag to Cindy. I suppose, even if Williams took the bag and put it back after showing Cindy, there would still be telltale signs that roots had grown up through it.

What I really think is that this Cain guy is incompetent, lazy, and a disgrace. It was unfortunate that he was the one that kept being called in about the bag–perhaps a more conscientious policeman might have found her body early enough to have made it easier for a determination of how she died.

  25. March 16, 2009 5:50 am

I remeber one of the attys. on Nancy Grace said the fact that Casey waited 31 days before telling anyone will be a big cause to find her
guilty. Combined with all the other evidence and lies it makes sense.
Dr. G. said “it was a homicide.” How can the defence say it was an accident?

The Anthonys could not have loved little Caylee as much as they way. They couldn’t stand the sight of Casey if they truly loved little Caylee. All the “Sweetheart, darling, gorgeous” makes me ill!

Here is part two of Blink’s article about Keith Williams:

I have no idea what the heck is goin on…

MBFelicity–I would hope Dr. G. will have something to back her statement up with–I would assume the duct tape over her mouth will be just a part of that proof. There was quite a bit of hair still attached to the skull thanks to the duct tape–I’m hoping analysis of that hair will show whether or not Caylee was drugged or had been drugged over a long period of time. That would also boost the homicide statement.

ostella–thanks for the link to the Keith Williams article. He was apparently a reporter? as well as the brother of one of Casey’s friends. I don’t really know what the heck any of that meant either!
