    Ostella,
I don’t know if that’s proof or not. Casey could have been in the area of the tower without being in the house, unless I’m mistaken.

The question is why would George intentionally lie?

I personally have felt like George lied that day, for sometime. The reason I felt that way is because he so vividly described her clothing and back pack and he was so sure of it. He did this over and over, and then they found those in her room. It turned out that she had a different back pack with her and she was wearing different clothing. That in and of itself would be no big deal, but he was accurate in what Casey was wearing. Those clothes were found in the car and Cindy washed them, and they did have staining on them. Of course I’ve felt that Cindy and Casey’s fight played into that too, and couldn’t see her just going to bed and quietly leaving the next day as though nothing happened. I wonder if the pinging could be that she did stay in the area. Maybe she came back when Cindy was gone. There are all kinds of possibilities. I’ve wondered for some time if she left and really didn’t go farther than the end of the road, maybe to the abandoned house. I think Caylee died in the trunk by asphyxiation. Maybe she drugged her, and then duct taped her and left her in there. JMO.

Now I am wondering if they have the pings for George’s cell phone too? Was he even at the house that morning?

I wonder if they pulled up Cindy’s pings too? Was she at the house? She swore she was at work, but with the lies outnumbering the truth more than 2 to 1 in the Ant family testimony (13 ‘successful’ hours of putting all your lies into a this-is-the-truth-but-who-knows-what-I-will-really-say-on-the-stand statement), who can tell?

I am personally more interested in where they are were the night of the 15th.

As to why did George intentionally lie?:

The question is really, why did George intentionally lie twice about the last time he saw Caylee?

George initially swore with the rest of the family that the last time Caylee was seen was June 9. Then the video of June 15 was found. Then they all changed their stories. Why? Why the initial lie? Why the second lie?

If you believe that G,C, and Lee were in on the conspiracy to cover-up from at least the moment they all banded together to back up KC’s lie about June 9th, the answer to the intial lie question is to make KC seem to be truthful… an impossible task. The answer to the why the second lie becomes that they all got caught once already, probably better to assign one person to lie so that you don’t have to correlate a lie among three seperate people about to give individual police interviews.

But maybe George should have checked Caylee’s room before he described a set of clothes and a backpack still in there…

For a family of habitual liars, you would think they would be better at this…

You would think so Spacely, but you are right, it has been a series of lies.

I wonder if cindy told him to lie? To just pretend like everything was normal, and there was no smackdown the night before, and everything was jolly and normal normal normal, doggonit, that’s an absolute truth. Normal. Honest. For reals……

  11. Id'claire permalink
    August 7, 2009 4:01 pm

So…George lied to make Casey look more truthful? In case there was a kidnapping or an accident, and Casey hadn’t come forward yet? Since he wasn’t sure of the truth, and things sure looked suspicious, he wanted to lie to give time for more truth to come out….before his daughter got the ax

ostella –part of it was to look normal…like “of course, we knew where Casey and Caylee were all the time…something like this couldn’t slip by us…Maybe she stole… a little…everyone lies….”

I’ve thought from the beginning that George describing what Caylee and Casey had on that day was unbelievable. It was contrived and even his mannerisms and voice sounded rehearsed.

I think Niecey’s scenario of her maybe going down the road could have happened, UNLESS the whole thing was a group lie which I doubt. Cindy’s calls to 911 did not sound rehearsed to me–you can hear the panic and anguish in her voice.

There was utter chaos in the house the night LE was called as everyone began to put two and two together. I can’t imagine the horror of realizing your 2 year old was gone and had been gone that long. I don’t think they were sitting around deciding what they were going to say to the police.

I think Casey left the house the night of the fight (the 15th), and either slept in her car or more likely snuck back into the house after everyone went to bed. She doesn’t strike me as the type of girl that would allow herself to be uncomfortable or inconvenienced. She would not want to sleep in a hot car with a whiny 2 year old or in a nasty abandoned house in the dark.

So, George probably did see them leave on the 16th.

That’s probably what happened, but there are some nagging questions that I can’t reason away. June 9th, for one, and why George felt it was necessary to tell LE what Caylee was wearing at all if he didn’t really know. Why these people let Casey keep Caylee away so long without making a concerted effort to find her. etc.

I don’t think their memory was as good as they’d of like. I certainly couldn’t get all the dates straight a month later. To “stick together” the 9th was unionized. Then that had to be changed to the 15th.

Cindy did seem to make some effort to track down or keep track of Casey. They called each other almost every day, whether to talk briefly or leave messages. I too thought there should have been more effort. Cindy in particular deeply missed Caylee.

But she kept accepting everything Casey said EVEN after going to her work, and then Casey saying..Oh, I’m in Jacksonville or wherever. Even AFTER Lee caught her lying where she was. (How could Casey be working out of town with Jeff and his family? Shirley Plesea got it, but Cindy didn’t.)

I think Cindy was very scared of Casey and pushing her too far, maybe something Casey threatened at the big fight.

You could be right. Cindy could have been scared of Casey. Obviously she handled Casey with kid gloves.

    Hello Everyone!

Mystery, If I remember correctly, the 9th was actually from Cindy. She said it on the night she brought Casey home and Casey went with it. I do not necessarily think it was a lie to dis suede anyone I think that there was so much chaos at that point and that Cindy was counting back to when she Thought she saw Caylee. That is not to say that I do not think Cindy has lied with the rest of them, but I certainly do not believe that she purposefully started to lie that night..

As far as George, I think he WANTED to believe that his daighter could not do this. Furthermore, if you have read the statements about the tension between him and Casey due to his lying to Cindy and the fact that they were trying to work things out, it seems plausible that at this point he was doing anything possible to be in good graces and win his kids over again. Now, if her would have stood up and been a man at this point then maybe we wouldn’t still be going round and round about the dates, clothes etc. I only hope that in the deposition he came clean…

Cindy is a liar in the publics eye. BUT, I don’t think she sees herself that way. I think that she makes every effort to twist and turn everything into something that looks positive for Casey. If you read through her earlier interviews, it is almost as if she catches herself saying ” I know my daughter did something” and then pulls back from it and shifts the blame.

So truthfully they probably do not believe they are lying, they probably want to believe that there is a Zenaida, that someone hurt Caylee and is framing Casey, & that their lives were being threatened. Therefore, they will never have to come to the realization that everytime they made another excuse for their daughters actions, it put her one step closer to taking their grand daughters lives. The guilt alone of not stepping in when they had multiple warning signs has got to eat at them daily…

halfpint, your assessment shows a lot of understanding towards the Anthonys.

The public sees them as liars because they (we) can stand back and see how inconsistent and detrimental all their statements have been. LE had enough to unravel besides spending their investigative hours listening to Anthony stories and perceptions, receiving limited cooperation at times, and being on the wrong end of verbal Anthony abuse questioning LE integrity and forensics.

But even in their “fights” with LE, they thought they were cooperating and supportive, and it was LE unfairly “out for their daughter” and unwilling to consider her innocence or a live Caylee.

IF george was lying, and the detectives can use the cell phone data to prove it (like maybe precise GPS readings LE hasn’t released yet)…..then I’m REALLY curious abpout the timing of this docdump in relation to his recent depo….. Seriously, he was JUST DEPOSED in the last 48 hours, and now BAM, this info comes to light. I sure hope he was truthful for his sake….

    Truthful? An anthony? I can’t believe I just typed that…. 🙂

    Hi halfpint!

You are right. These people probably haven’t got a clue–no, I take that back, I believe they do have a clue–maybe they didn’t in the beginning, but I really think they know what they are doing now.

I think they were “cooperative and supportive” only when things appeared to be going their way. When things weren’t going their way–that’s when you got the belligerence, the twisting of the truth, etc.

Yes, very interesting the timing of his deposition and the release of these docs. George knows what he said in the depo–does he remember what he said in the docs? Is he sweating it, or saying “whew”?

Hi Mystery: Oh I am not making any excuse for their behavior. You know I am not any type of supporter for Camp Anthony. I was pointing out the earlier statements and interviews where I thought it looked they were truly beliveing everything she said. Now? No they know now that their daughter is responsible for their grand daughter being dead and at this point they may as well come clean. If I were them I would distance myself as far as possible from her. I wonder if they have even ever realized the fact that they were probably going to be victims themselves?

Halfpint, I think they are starting to put two and two together, and the defense may well be going to try and use them as scapegoats. I wouldn’t be surprised if they tried to cast suspicion on Cindy or George in order to create reasonable doubt.
They would be fools to let that happen and I would hope they would decide to tell all they know.

maybe George was not living there June 15th. They make up stories all the time to cover for something or another constantly. I never believed the 24th story about she came home the gas can thing either.. just that she was being tied to the shed/gas cans. on the 24th by dad. He never ever called the police before about her taking gas cans.Did you ever see a blog where there was a comment Caseylee on maybe a Myspace or something before saying please bring beer ect..dad is coming over (I suspect at Caylee’s birthday one year) and how akward she’d feel?????
