Judge delays judgement in Zenaida Gonzales civil suit
Casey Anthony was not in court today while her attorneys sought to have the Zenaida Gonzales civil suit dismissed–or at the least, delayed. The hearing lasted two hours, and the judge has not yet issued his ruling. Anthony’s attorneys say Gonzalez’ attorneys cannot show that the alleged defamatory statements were directed at her personally. Jonathan Kason, Casey’s attorney, called the lawsuit “frivolous” and said that Zenaida Gonzales’ attorneys, Morgan and Morgan, “works off of publicity.” Keith Mitnik, one of Zenaida’s attorneys, said his client is the only Zenaida Gonzalez interviewed by LE. He objects delaying the case because the criminal case could take years.
In Wednesday’s hearing, Gonzalez’ attorneys will try to force Cindy and George Anthony to answer more of their questions. They had refused to answer certain questions during their previous depositions. Cindy had refused to answer whether or not Casey had used her credit cards without permission. (something they had admitted to earlier) Mitnik said that by proving she was charging up George and Cindy’s credit cards, they could show she certainly didn’t have the funds to pay for a babysitter. George refused to answer a lot of questions and threatened to walk out of his earlier deposition several times.
Defense attorney, Richard Hornsby, believes the judge will allow the defamation case to move forward. “I’ts obvious Zenaida Gonzalez doesn’t exist so they need to move on to proving she doesn’t exist and securing whatever the damages are,” he said.
None of the Anthonys were present at today’s hearing.

I think the judge will allow the case to move forward for the same reason Huizenga’s case was allowed to move forward. This woman doesn’t deserve to have her case drag out for years just because of the murder trial.
