New document dump today in the Casey Anthony case Sept. 29, 2009

September 29, 2009

Casey up close

UPDATE: Documents released.  My comments will be in blue.

Included are emails and reports.

Detailed email from someone named Cindy in Texas titled “Possible angles on Zenaida” –Lots of research and speculation about Zenaida Gonzales.

pg 6: Dominic Casey’s offer to sponsor Lee Anthony’s PI internship! Concludes the letter with “Welcome aboard!”

pg. 17:  email stating someone named “Laura Rose” is friends with “William Waters”  (a friend of Casey’s) on myspace.  Laura Rose is friends with Zenaida Gonzales on myspace.  It is the same ZG that filled out the application card at Sawgrass.  William Waters visited Casey in jail. On July 22, 2009, Laura Rose sent William Waters a message:  “She’s ok. I just feel it 🙂

pg. 23: Dominic Casey’s letter of engagement with George and Cindy Anthony.

Lots of emails between Cindy and Dominic and others.  Trying to come up with other scenarios that would make Casey innocent.  In other words, trying to create reasonable doubt that Casey could have murdered her daughter.

more of the same.  Lots of stuff to discredit Zenaida Gonzales.

Pg. 37:  dated 12/8/08:  Cindy tells John Allen in an email that Dominic Casey is not part of the defense team.  She says he works only for her and George for the sole purpose of finding Caylee Marie.

lots of people searches, lists of new businesses, more searches for Zenaida Gonzales,

pg 20: email from D Casey to Cindy: “As requested is our withdrawal of services to Jose. Dominic” Letter to Jose dated October 1, 2008.

Information about the duct tape plus stores that sold the tape, the total they sold, plus the years sold.  Written in the margin, NO SALES-2008-2009

pg. 2: Written statement made by James Thompson, a computer store owner, to the Maitland Police Department.  He claims Casey and Caylee came into his store a week before Father’s Day and Casey inquired about a computer monitor.  He gave Caylee a toy and he noted Casey didn’t behave like a normal mother.  Then, the day AFTER Father’s Day, he ran into Casey and Caylee coming out of Walmart.  He recognized them.  He noted that Caylee was walking about 10 feet behind Casey and Casey made the little girl open the heavy door by herself.  He suggested that police check out the Walmart surveillance video to see for themselves.

Documents have been released to the media and I will add links to them as they are provided.

You can get updates until you have the actual documents at:

I will also update as the info is released.

So far, they are reporting that the Anthonys PI,  Dominic Casey kept a file on the people involved in the case with notes about them.  That included whether or not they might be carrying a weapon.

Included in his list among other things:

  • Nancy Grace. Talk show host. Disseminates hatred towards [sic] family.
  • Kathi Belich. Reporter. Disseminates hatred towards [sic] family.
  • Richard Grund. Threats against family. His SRT Website boasts: “My Glock Rocks.” Note: Potentioal for carrying.
  • Zenaida Gonzalez. Accusations against family…Note: Gang member tatoo’s [sic].
  • John Morgan. Exhibitionist. Attorney for Zenaida.
  • Katherine Harris. Protester. Threats against family. Note: Potential for carrying.
  • Leonard Padilla. Disseminates hatred towards [sic] family. Padilla carries knife at “lower back area” in a sheath.

I notice Dom enjoys penning the phrase “disseminates hatred toward family,” about pretty much every figure in this case. Noticeably absent is the phrase, “Family disseminates hatred toward society by pulling out all the stops to set their killer daughter free, by lying at every turn, and derailing the investigation at every opportunity.” I especially enjoy his personal assessment of Jesse Grund. Yes, the police academy: the career path all glock-owning gangsters embark upon.

The statement of this Thompson guy (at the computer store and Walmart) shows how cold and heartless this Babay Killer is. And most interesting is the evidence of a child in a fetal position (car trunk stain…imprint). She is done. THE TRIAL CANNOT START SOON ENOUGH!

Other correspondence shed light on how involved Cindy Anthony and the family’s private investigator Dominic Casey became in trying to dig up dirt on the man who discovered Caylee’s remains, Roy Kronk, as well as Grund.

After receiving some of the information from Cindy Anthony, Casey Anthony’s attorney, Jose Baez, replied, “Good work, Rosebud.”

Its a very real charge, Bees. Key word: fabricate. I know Richard Grund has said he’s entertaining the notion of a civil suit on those grounds, because of the Turd Herd’s internet frenzy to frame Jesse (think the Troll Wars).

First, let me say that the report from Karen Cowan is heartwrenching and damning. On the lighter side, I think Dominic’s “Characters of Interest” list is downright hysterical. I am still trying to understand the whole “exorcism” thing re: Rev Grund, but it is obvious to me that the A’s are desperate to throw both Jesse and his dad under the proverbial bus.

I don’t know about you guys, but I don’t think there was a heck of a lot of good news for the prosecution in this dump. Not only was the heart shaped residue destroyed but one of the agents DNA contaminated the duct tape. JVM reporting that there are NO pictures of the heart shaped residue in existence.

Granted, we haven’t seen the stains showing a child’s body in a fetal position, but as the documents say–that would be very subjective as evidence. The proverbial ink stain–everybody sees something different.

It does show that the Anthonys and Dominic Casey were working harder to throw individuals under the bus than they were working to look for a live Caylee.

Thanks for the link mikka–It appears that Brad Conway is going to fuel the fires tomorrow and add another ring to the circus.

I don’t think Braddy Boy has the right to do this. He’s not Casey’s attorney. If the State didn’t release it to the public, he shouldn’t even have it.

  22. itsamysterytome permalink*
    September 29, 2009 6:28 pm

I agree, niecey–What the heck does he have to do with Casey Anthony’s case?? He’s George and Cindy’s attorney. Just ridicules and probably just more accusations implicating other people. It’s the media that made the documents released today available to the public. They choose what to print from all the discovery turned over to the defense. If the State did not release certain information to Baez, then how the heck would Conway have it in the first place?

  23. niecey456 permalink
    September 29, 2009 6:40 pm

Yes the media requests it from the State and the State’s Attorney’s Office releases it to them. Baez already has it. He can request things to be withheld, and the State can choose to withhold things from the public, ie the media. If this was not in the release there was a reason and he has no right to make that call. Of course there is not telling if what he has is legit or not either, and could be taken out of context like Bozo’s last release. Which if it’s the latter, he got it from Bozo.

  24. niecey456 permalink
    September 29, 2009 6:50 pm

To clarify, Bozo gets it first from the State. He has plenty of time to read and research, the media requests it from there, and if they get it, we get it.
Bozo is letting him see all the discovery is what this is telling me.

  25. itsamysterytome permalink*
    September 29, 2009 7:20 pm

Yep, it would seem that way. I can’t imagine that the State would give Baez (who might then give Brad) “blockbuster” evidence in favor of the defense and that the media would not print it. Of course they would if it were available to them.

Brad Conway said the evidence he intends to release contains information the state “should have released today, but didn’t.” That says to me that he has access to some sort of information that the prosecution didn’t release to Baez. If they had released it to Baez, the media would have it. If the media has it, we would have it.

That’s why I think it’s probably just more of the same from the Anthony camp.

“My client, the hottest grandma in ALL of Orlando, who is married but available, has discovered crucial evidence the cops overlooked. They are Miss Informed in their dreamworld. We live in reality, and in real reality we’re supposed to take ALL evidence into cooperation, right? And my client knows for a fact that when Casey lies, she always tells the truth. Perfect 10 Grandma speaks the language of all younger 10’s, which clearly Casey is, so right there we know she’s not a killer. Use your brains sheeple. But my client has uncovered something so explosion-like, she’s ready to burst:

Dominic is a cult leader. All of those emails released yesterday were a secret code within the cult; instructions, brainwashing, all that stuff. The cult worships the Puerto Rican Goddess Zenaida, and smuggles children to the island to be cared for by rich Perfect 10 Nannys who spoil them rotten. Dominic is the fallguy- er, Master mind- behind the operation. So that’s where she’s at. Now let Casey out. **Jazz Hands**

Now we here that Brad is releasing evidence that the State should have released yesterday! IMO this seems very unethical…wish Bees ♥Bill would give us an explanation.

I was impressed with the discussion between Mystery, Niecey and Richard Hornsby {on your previous article…worth a read for any who have not seen it.} It was interesting to hear that most of the information that intrigues all of us will probably not make it into the court room. We really must try to be more objective when disseminating the documents as sadly Richard stated that he wouldn’t return to give us his valuable input…I respect him for his decision…wish he would reconsider.

Heaps of reading to do…hugs to all my “over pond” friends. ♥♥♥

At 6 tonight, WKMG-Channel 6’s Tony Pipitone hinted something big was coming in his Casey Anthony reporting.
“We have shown the FBI’s DNA test results to an expert in DNA forensics, and what she told us could be the biggest piece of evidence yet that could be used to raise doubts in jurors’ minds about whether Casey Anthony is really guilty,” Pipitone said.

At 11 tonight, Pipitone delivered again. It’s the story people will be discussing tomorrow.

Pipitone explained that a second piece of DNA was found on the duct tape on Caylee’s skull. “Neither shows traces of Caylee’s accused killer, her mother Casey,” Pipitone said.

Making headlines earlier in the day was the news that an FBI lab analyst, during testing, had accidentally contaminated the tape.

The second piece of DNA was found on the tape’s adhesive side, Pipitone reported.

The DNA expert confirmed to Pipitone that this second piece of DNA does not belong to Caylee, Casey, Casey’s parents or the FBI lab analyst.

“It could be the biggest break in the case for the defense,” Pipitone said.

Dr. Henrietta Nunno, the expert, said someone else — perhaps the perpetrator or another analyst — could have contaminated the tape. ”

Of course, the defense may now argue it’s not contamination at all but rather the DNA of Caylee’s real killer,” Pipitone said.

Pipitone also reported that the FBI has found that the tape on Caylee’s skull does not come from the same source as the tape on a gas tank in the Anthony home.

“If that bears out as this case progresses, that could also be very damaging in any attempt to tie Casey to the scene of that crime,” Pipitone said.

“Wow!” anchor Lauren Rowe said. “It seems like it’s a big deal for the prosecution.”

    Hi Nancy!!

Supposedly Brad will release information today that reveals the duct tape on Haleigh does not match the duct tape at the Anthony house and the hair found on the tape doesn’t match either Caylee or Casey’s. (See mikka’s link in the comment directly above this one) Still not sure what Brad is doing sticking his nose in all this and why he is privy to this info. We’ll have to wait til he releases it to see if it is true.

    Thanks again Mikka!

I had heard yesterday that there was another print on the tape. I think that is why the prosecution released the info that the tape was contaminated with a lab tech’s print. It shows that others have handled the tape and they can argue back that it could have been anyone’s print.

I don’t know about the tape coming from different sources. We’ll have to see if that bears out. Can’t figure out why it was released that it was a rare tape and was from the same roll earlier. This is getting as whacky as the Haleigh Cummings case.

Two pieces of DNA were found on the duct tape attached to Caylee’s skull, the same brand and type as that one found on a gas can in the Anthony family’s east Orange County home, Pipitone reported.

But neither piece shows traces of Casey Anthony, according to documents released by the state attorney’s office on Tuesday.

One DNA sample was traced to an FBI lab analyst who accidentally contaminated the outside of the duct tape during testing, the documents stated. But an FBI lab report showing a fragment of DNA represented by the number 17 was found on the underside, the adhesive side.

Local 6 showed it and other test results to John Jay College Professor Henrietta Nunno, who said it could be a big break for Casey Anthony’s defense team.

“So it’s not Casey. It’s not Caylee. It’s not Cindy. It’s not George. And it’s not the FBI analyst?” Pipitone asked.

“I would agree with that, yes,” Nunno said. “Someone who is not one of those people did leave DNA on the tape. Whether it was the perpetrator of the crime or another person who examined it, I guess we don’t know.”

The amount of DNA is so small that it can’t be used to identify whether it is from another FBI analyst.

well, apparently the dna found on the duct tape that could not be identified was so small that it couldn’t be analyzed to find out if it was one of the examiner’s dna.

wouldn’t that mean it was also too small to identify who it DIDN’T belong to?

    On the Brad Evidence:

The police gather lots of evidence during the investigation, but only a small percentage of it is deemed worthy of being entered into public record as part of the discovery process. For instance, thousands of tips were investigated – each tip and the resulting investigation reports are evidence – but the actual reports won’t make it into the trial because that evidence did not move the case forward in any way.

Of all of the evidence that does look worthwhile legally to the prosecutors and gets submitted to the clerk as part of the discovery process, only a percentage of it will make it to the actual trial.

So, when Brad states he has evidence that ‘should have been released today’, he means one of two things:

    1) That evidence was released to the defense as part of the discovery process and the defense determined they did not want a particular portion made public at this time (eventually, it all comes out). If this is the scenario, it is possible that Brad has additional Cindy e-mails he wishes to release that were part of the discovery, but that Jose did not want made public. Brad has the right to do this because the e-mails are Cindy’s.

    2) Brad knows of evidence that was gathered by law enforcement but was not entered into the discovery process because it was deemed not worthy by the prosecution (but Jose has the right to enter evidence too, so he could always enter stuff on his own). Brad feels it should have been included and is now going to publicly publish it. I again think this refers to Cindy e-mails, most likely additional spins and lies in the e-mails that Brad and Cindy think the police should have ‘take seriously’ or ‘proves the cops were not looking for anyone other than KC’.

The interesting thing to take away from this is that it appears Brad and Cindy are going rogue against Jose. If Jose wanted the stuff made public, he could have entered it on his own. If it was entered by the state, then Jose did not want it made public. Either way, unless he wants publicity made for this evidence that he knows he can’t get into court, this may signal a complete breakdown between Jose and Cindy.

Thanks Spacely for laying that out for us.

You may be right about the emails. I can’t imagine that Brad would release something that Bozo doesn’t want out there. The only reason Bozo would withhold something would be if he thought it was particularly damning to his client—-UNLESS he wants it to appear that the state is withholding evidence and he and Conway are in cahoots. He could have held this info back just so Brad could dramatically reveal it. I know, I’ve been reading too many murder mysteries…….

Thanks for the link with Richard! I thought at first it could have been a accident because she did try to contact her family. But then the duct tape has confused me. As a mother I can’t grasp the thought of it. I think I am in a position to remember how I felt when my twins died and duct tape and trash bags never entered my mind. So maybe Casey is crazy and it is time for everyone helping her to man up and get her the help she needs. They could save her life and keep her off the streets for many years and let Caylee finally rest because accident or not Caylee did not deserve the duct tape, the ride in the car or the woods. I often feel sorry for Casey because of loosing my own babies I know what Casey lost but she is only trying to save herself and it is apparent to me she has completely detached herself from Caylee and to be able to that in my opinion tells me she NEVER bonded to her child like most mothers. I feel little sympathy for the A’s because they know she has mental health issues and are trying to save her instead of getting her the help she needs. Casey was allowed to lie and steal with no punishment if she gets no punishment I believe if she has another child and another accident occurs the same thing would happen again. these are just my opinions and thoughts. I do hope at the very least Casey gets sent to a mental hospital for a very long time.

Some of the documents Conway referred to Wednesday, which they say raise questions about the evidence we’ve heard about so far, are old reports going back to the beginning of 2009. There are a lot of documents yet to be released, to both the public and the defense, and the FBI might still be conducting tests on some of the evidence at this point.

Mike DeForest said his station disputed the second example by showing Conway another FBI document that says no hair other than Caylee’s was on the duct tape.

“At that point, Brad Conway basically backed off of this statement and said he wanted to do a little bit further research,” DeForest said.

WFTV legal analyst Bill Sheaffer said the new document didn’t rule out the link between the duct tape on Caylee and the tape at the Anthony house, Belich reported. “You’re going to have deterioration of the tape at the crime scene because it’s been sitting there for months under water,” Sheaffer said.

this sounds like music in my ear!

former prosecutor said the motion to dismiss the charges against Anthony can be easily defeated by the state simply by having a prosecutor file a traverse, which is a way for the state to say they do have a case, even if the evidence is flimsy

  50. mikka permalink

Pipitone rated the motions’ chances. He said the death-penalty motion had little success because prosecutors in Florida are given great leeway to seek death. And Pipitone said the prosecution could easily defeat the motion to defense by saying it does have enough evidence.

Laura–Of course, the duct tape could have been a ploy to make it look like someone kidnapped Caylee and murdered her. If Casey was (and apparently is) sticking to her kidnap story, the duct tape and even the little heart sticker on it, could imply there was some sicko out there that really did steal her child. And the longer Caylee was missing the more likely the body would be so deteriorated that a cause of death could not be determined. (which is exactly what happened)

If that baby’s body had remained in the woods another rainy season, there would have been little, if any trace left of her other than maybe her skull. Look at the large area her little body was found scattered in. It’s chilling to think that if it hadn’t been for Kronk’s persistence, Caylee may never have been found. I’m no lawyer, but I would think that without a body Casey’s chances would go up exponentially.

Thanks for the updates–I had to go out of town yesterday afternoon. I guess Conway wasn’t prepared for someone to dispute whatever he was trying to spoon feed us! He should just stick to being George & Cindy’s attorney.
