FBI questioning employees of company that certified Tammi Smith as a colon cleansing practitioner in the Gabriel Johnson case
The FBI is questioning employees of a San Antonio company that licenses colon-cleansing practitioners in the disappearance of Gabriel Johnson. The International Association of Colon Hydrotherapists certified Tammi Smith, the woman who along with her husband had been trying to adopt Gabriel. Tammi and Jack Smith have been named “persons of interest” in the case.
Is it a coincidence that Elizabeth Johnson, Gabriel’s mother, was last seen with him on December 26th in a motel in San Antonio that is located only about a block away from the organization’s offices?
Kim Hale, commander of investigations for the Tempe Police Department said, “It’s a long shot, but we’re questioning people there to see if there is a connection. Our focus continues to be in San Antonio where the child was last seen.”
After learning that police had contacted the organization, Tammi Smith, listed as the owner of Healing Waters in Sun City West and in Glendale said,
“I have nothing to say about that. That’s retarded. I’ve never been to the office in San Antonio. I’ve talked to people there and called them. Nobody from the FBI has called us, yet. This whole thing is ridiculous. I have begged and begged for them to ask us questions – nobody will ask us questions, nobody will come to our home.”
Smith talked with Johnson again on Wednesday. She said that Elizabeth gave her another story of where she left Gabriel. “She said she gave the baby away to a couple inside the motel room. She said she put the baby in the car seat and signed a paper giving custody of the child to the couple. She said the couple knew it was a phony state adoption. She said she stayed inside the room while the couple took the baby out to the car and said she didn’t know what the car looked like.”
The woman was described as in her mid 30’s, was 5’1″-5’3″, blond hair and weighbing between 110 to 125 pounds. The man was described as tall with dark hair.
Police have yet to determine for certain whether Elizabeth Johnson really did give her child away or if she killed him as she claimed to Logan McQueary, Gabriel’ father. At this time they believe Gabriel is still alive.
When Elizabeth was arrested in Florida she had around $500 with her.
A $5000 reward is being offered by Crime Stoppers of San Antonio for the safe return of baby Gabriel.

Wow. The Smiths’ connection to this is getting more and more strange. Is it really a coincidence that the organization that certified Tammi Smith in her colon cleansing business is located less than a block away from where Elizabeth was staying? It makes you wonder if Smith had a friend or connection in the main offices that assisted Elizabeth in hiding or selling her baby. I’m not saying there’s no such thing as a coincidence BUT….I hope like heck this isn’t one.
There are a whole lotta things not adding up with the Smiths’ and they have correctly been identified as “persons of interest” IMO. Nancy Grace, who remains one of their staunchest defenders and has them on her show almost nightly, needs to take off her rose-colored glasses and start asking them the tough questions.
Kudos to LE in Tempe and San Antonio for leaving no stone unturned in the search for Gabriel.
