Photos of Gabriel Johnson in San Antonio motel

January 16, 2010

These are photos taken off Elizabeth Johnson’s camera.  The police believe they were taken in the San Antonio hotel room he was last seen in.  The last photo was taken on December 26, 2009.  He doesn’t look anything like what the babysitter who watched him in that hotel room said.  She said he was thin, dirty, and had crusty boogers around his nose.  He looks clean and healthy to me.  The only thing I find disturbing is that he’s playing with what appears to be a baby tylenol bottle and appears to have droopy eyes in the last two photos. And, where are the smiles a normal 8 month old would have?

Something else that’s bothering me…..There are pictures on the nightstand of the hotel room.  One appears to me to be of Elizabeth and her twin brother when they were little. (not sure, just speculating)  The other one is of a woman holding a baby. (Elizabeth and Gabriel?)  I find it really odd that she would have pictures in the room at all.  The other thing that’s really starting to bother me.  The last photo taken, according to police,  was of Gabriel drinking something reddish.  He’s wearing the same thing he had on when he was playing with the tylenol bottle.

Please, God, bring this precious little boy home to his Daddy.

If you have information about Gabriel’s whereabouts, please call (210) 224-7867.

I too have been studying these pictures carefully. Why would someone bring framed photographs to a motel room ? The night table looks to be a very nice one, (something one would find in a home and not in a motel room. If you look carefully there is an ironing board
(corner of it seen in photo # 1 as well as in photo #4.
The juice bottle could possibly be cranberry juice. His nighties look to be clean and seemed to be well cared for with the exception of those droopy eyes….could he just be tired or the picture was snapped while he moved ? thus giving it the effect of a drugged baby?

I too am disturbed that his child is holding some sort of medicine bottle with perhaps a dropper at the top lid. It seems to be too small of a bottle to be tylenol but I may be wrong.

What ever the case may be, the mother and her pals just don’t ring true to me. There are far too many unanswered questions in this case beginning with the mother and the Smiths.
If another couple other than the Smiths took this child, this baby could be out of the country by now.
If Elizabeth’s family (grandfather) knew this girl had problems, why didn’t they do something about it? Why didn’t someone notify the authorities sooner?
So many questions and not enough answers coming forth now.

Let’s hope this child can be found, but as time passes, I fear for his safety and well-being.

Commercial carpeting and headboard attached to the wall does appear to be a motel/hotel type room. Why you would put a baby on the ( filthy) floor in a hotel room, and why you would give a child a medicine bottle to play with which looks like it has a prescription label on it to me…!!! This room reminds me of the type of ” suites” I stayed in when traveling on business several years ago. Places which book a week or two type stays. I hope this baby is found safely, and this is why I have such a bad feeling about ” undergrouond” safehouses. Lets try to improve the system, rather than bypass it completely. Its difficult to judge peoples truthfulness, and as an ” underground” group without resources to check out family home, police files etc, are we letting children be taken from their parents by vindictive people with a ” if I cant or choose not to care for this child no one can”” attitude? Prayers for Gabriel and thumbscrews for these mothers and their notoriety from hurting children.

I think Tammi Smith knows exactly where this beautiful baby is, and the possibility that he is in Mexico is very real. I just pray that God will protect him, and keep him safe from harm. Dr. Lillian Glass said that she thought the Mother was on some kind of drugs and may not remember who she gave him to.

Bringing framed photos into a motel room suggests to me that Elizabeth has more feelings than she has led us to believe. She wanted her family with her and put up the pictures to feel less isolated. Is that something a woman would do that was planning on killing her baby? I’m no expert but I don’t think you would want photos of people that would be a constant reminder that you were doing something terribly wrong. On the other hand, if you felt that you were doing the right thing–giving your baby up to a family that would appreciate and love him more than you or the father, you would want those pictures to reinforce your resolve.

IDK, I’m probably grasping at straws here.

I think it is definitely a motel room, and I wouldn’t walk barefoot in one, let alone put my baby on the floor to wallow around…..

I agree with your assessment of “safe houses”. I’m not saying they are a bad thing. They probably serve a necessary purpose, but for God’s sake, take the time to find out the truth before whisking a child away never to be seen again. If you don’t research the people you are helping, what would make us believe you researched the people they are going to.

I hope not, but it sure is a possibility that he’s no longer in the US. As I said on an earlier post, San Antonio is only 150 miles from the Mexican border.

    Hi Mystery!
Hadley, I totally agree! TS is behind this with the brat mother! I assume as soon as they find him, TS will also be blessed with a jail cell!

The little girl that “they adopted” was actually taken from Tammi’s husband’s son. They apparently faked papers, or something, to get her, and refuse to give her back to her real Father. I hope LE/FBI nails them to the wall! They are heartless liars. I’m still convinced that know where baby Gabriel is…they will probably sell him to the “highest bidder.”

Surely, the FBI is on to them by this time. I hope they rot in jail! They’ve left a paper trail somewhere…in another name. I just pray LE can find it.

    Hi Humble

TS story is getting stranger and stranger. She’s in this up to her ears IMO. She may actually not know exactly where Gabriel is, but she helped get him there–no question about it.

I read that about their “daughter” and the son’s version of how that came about. I pray that LE can untangle this mess and that Gabriel is found.

It’s 100% a baby tylenol bottle I have the same one for my 10 month old sone. The baby looks clean. I disagree with this so called sitter that watched him. She didn’t hate this baby or she wouldn’t have taken pics of him. She took pics because she knew it was the last time she was going to see him. Who hires a sitter by the way for a baby they are going to kill? WHO does that?? If you were going to kill him anyway wouldn’t you have just done it before going out and save your money. Exactly. I don’t think she killed this baby either. If she did is was probably by accident. To many meds etc. What is that cup is it a medicine dispensor?

I’m pretty sure it’s a tylenol bottle, too. As for the other thing he appears to be drinking from, I’ve looked all over the internet trying to find something similar. Does anyone recognize it? I enlarged it and inserted into the pictures in the post. Couldn’t get it to link in the comment for some reason.

No “sane person would hire a babysitter right before they were planning on killing the baby. I mean, why not just leave him unattended if you don’t care what happens to him? That gives me hope that he is alive, but I’m losing hope that he will be found….

And yet, at the time these pics were taken, I believe Elizabeth had already texted the father that Gabriel was dead.

I don’t think there are really any assumptions we can make based on these photos other than that it appears Gabriel was cleaned, fed, and cared for at the moment each picture was taken. But who would take a pic of a dirty baby they had not fed recently? It doesn’t even take 24 hours to get really dirty. He doesn’t appear thin, but the babysitter was not exactly thin herself, so her perception may be very different.

And who would take pics of a kid they planned to dispose of? Perhaps a woman who was selling her child over the internet or going to a sales meeting and needed a pic of the product. I don’t think we can attribute love as the overriding factor behind taking these pics. We can’t even be sure it was Elizabeth who snapped the pics, even though they are on her camera.

I do believe these are in a hotel room because of the headboard and the way the carpet covers the baseboards. However, it could have been another hotel, perhaps the room of the “buyers”?

I think we can all agree that a child playing with a drug bottle is an accident waiting to happen and a sign of irresponsible parenting.

I think it is a sippy cup, a bit smaller than this one:

It’s a medicine pacifier dispenser like this one.

Spacely, I don’t think it’s a sippy cup. Our grandson doesn’t have anything like that. And I couldn’t find a sippy cup that looks like that anywhere on the internet.

Alicia-I think it’s some kind of medicine dispenser as well. I haven’t found the exact one yet. The red stuff even looks like the stuff in the tylenol bottle. I hope to God it’s not because that would be way too much medication.

I noticed the pictures on the night stand too! It was reported somewhere that one picture is of her and her twin brother when they were very young (looks to me like maybe 3 or 4?) and the other is a picture of Elizabeth Johnson as a baby being held by her mother. I read that her mom died when she was 12 and that she and her brother lived in foster homes for five years after that.

I think Spacely is correct and it is a sippy cup that the baby is holding in the one picture. It looks like the “Take and Toss” sippy cups made by The First Years company, which are designed for traveling or using “on the go.” They are kind of small – only hold around six ounces and they come in various colors — maybe it’s not the contents of the cup that’s red, but the cup itself???? IDK — I’m purely speculating.

As for the tylenol, my guess is that it was for teething pain. I remember when my daughter was that age she was teething and cried constantly. Her pediatrician prescribed Tylenol, which looked just like the little bottle the baby is holding in the one picture (same as the OTC Tylenol only the pharmacy stuck a lable on my daughter’s and probably charged my insurance company twice what it was worth :). The Tylenol helped ease my daughter’s teething pain and stopped the crying but it made her very, very sleepy – droopy eyes similar to the ones in Baby Gabriel’s picture.

I found an intersting blog at If anyone is interested visit the site and read the first comment that follows the blog posting. The comment was posted by LB, whom I belive is Lynne Banks an adoption advocate that works to maintain an adoption fraud and unethical practices database and website. She notes in her comment at the blog site that there are three adoption agencies very close to the hotel where Elizabeth Johnson stayed in San Antonio and that lots of expectant moms are housed by adoption professionals in the same hotels where EJ stayed! She makes some other very interesting observations IMO.

As for Tammi Smith, I’m willing to bet she gets arrested, at a minimum, for consipracy to commit custodial interference. On the Nancy Grace show I recall her saying something about having advised Elizabeth Johnson that they might have better luck facilitating the adoption if she (EJ) went to a different jurisdiction. TS said that EJ took the baby and went to Texas, but then Logan filed for custody so TS told EJ “that wouldn’t work” – meaning the different jurisdiction. If I’m not mistaken, I read somewhere that TS did the same thing in order to adopt the little girl she has. She moved from Tennessee to Arizona then filed abandonment charges in Arizona on the little girls dad — the dad lived in Tennessee and had no knowledge of the filing.

There are so many twists and turns to this whole convoluted story….it truly is a mystery. In the mean time, everyone please keep praying for Baby Gabriel’s safe return to his father.

Ok It is def a hotel room BUT maybe the photographs were placed on the nightstand for some staged photography? He looks clean to me and in different outfits etc.

I think that someone else was taking pictures too and she snapped other with her phone/camera as well?

The lasts one where he is drugged he is wearing a toque. Mothers or others that are going to harm a baby don’t place hats on their heads or change their clothes.

I think he was drugged for a journey/car ride etc. to keep him quiet and Elizabeth snapped a last few pics.

They NEED to check the order of the photos on her cell phone.
