He said. She said. Who said? They ALL said! Brad Conway versus River Cruz-what’s the truth and does it matter?
There’s been a new development in the George Anthony mistress story. Wesh 2 has now interviewed the woman, and she says she claims she never wanted to get involved, but that detectives sought her out. River Cruz was spotted leaving the Orange County Sheriff’s Office today with the camera and phone detectives returned to her after examining them for evidence.
“I can tell you that everything I have told the detectives, I’ve sworn under, and I’ve made my statement, and I’ve told the truth,” Cruz said. “There’s nothing I want to cash in on. If anything, he’s taken money from me.” (although her sister, Skye, has admitted trying to sell the story to a news magazine.)
Brad Conway, the Anthony’s attorney claims it’s all untrue, and George Anthony never said anything about Caylee’s death being an accident that snowballed out of control. He says the story came to him by way of the National Enquirer and that this shows the motives of the people involved. He feels the motives of Cruz and her twin sister, Skye Benhaida are “questionable.”
Cruz is just as adamat, “If you’re asking me, I stand behind everything,”
“Do you feel George knew, based on what he told you, what happened to Caylee?” WESH 2 News reporter Bob Kealing asked.
“I’m not going to tell you. I’m sorry,” Cruz replied.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation into this story about a month ago. (which tells me it very well could be the “new discovery” detectives were talking about.)
In defense of the National Enquirer (Good grief–I can’t believe I’m gonna defend the Enquirer 🙄 but here goes.) They are not always wrong. They are sometimes right on target. And thank goodness they published the photos of an alive Caylee in the shirt that was found with her body.
Are the motives of these women in question? Of course they are! Are the motives of Brad Conway and George Anthony in question? OF COURSE THEY ARE! It’s a classic “he said, she said”, and the evidence, whatever it is, will eventually set them free–or NOT!
I still say, if by some miracle this woman can prove that George said what she claims he said, it will mean real justice for Caylee is coming down the pike. If all she can prove is that she had an affair with George and gave him money, then who cares other than maybe Cindy– and yes, that would mean we’ve been duped by Baez into averting our eyes from– him. (I started to say, “the prize” but it made me gag so I didn’t) BUT, if she can, by some miracle, prove that George gave her information that could prove he in some way helped fabricate the ZG fairy tale, it will mean justice for Caylee is coming down the pike SOON. Not sayin’ she can prove a thing, just sayin’ if she can, it’s big.
