Brad Conway defends George Anthony-says River Cruz claims aren’t true

March 16, 2010

Brad Conway has come out with a statement denying George’s involvement with a woman going by the name of River Cruz and is attempting to get background checks on her and her sister.  He says that River and Skye have used several aliases.  Her sister, Skye Benhaida, says now that River has been asked not to discuss the affair.

Brad denied the claim that George received money from her saying,  “We don’t know if she’s donated any money to the search fund but if so it certainly was not a large amount as she claims.  George denies any sexual relationship and denies making the statement about Caylee’s death being an accident that snowballed out of control.”

The woman has been questioned by OCSO.

read it below:

orlandosentinel.com

So, what’s the truth here?  Is it a hoax?  Is there some truth behind it?  Is it nothing at all?  The police have taken it seriously enough to question the woman, and I’m sure whatever the truth is we will be privy to it shortly.  Like I said before, the ONLY way this story has any importance is if it could somehow prove George was involved in helping Casey.  I was really hoping that was the case, but it’s starting to look like it’s not.

You can all tell me you told me so, now!  I can take it…… Can I blame it on the flu?  My brain is fuzzy.

Mystery, imo, whatever B Conway has to say in defense of GA is what he does, he is simply a “Mouthpiece” saying whatever he is told to say by CA! He has already lied on National TV, I have no respect for Conway, nor do I believe anything GA has to say. If Conway were smart, he won’t attack the character of these women as Conway is operating from “only GA’s word.” What LE/STATE have to say is what is important. If GA called River the night of the “so called suicide attempt from LE/State,” there would certainly be a record of it. If he were smart, he would SHUT UP until the “facts are known.”

Mystery, you’re right, we will know the truth soon enough through DOC Dumps. Remember, one of the “rubs KC had with GA was that she said he had affairs in the past.” It’s just more drama.

OMG Molly, looking badly for the twins. But at least they didn’t murder their children or grandchildren. WHY would River get involved in this nightmare, I do believe LE did knock on their door, if not, I do think LE would say so if she were just interjecting herself into the case.

My, my…I’m always impressed about the size of the Anthony rug…and for Conway’s ability to sweep things under it!!

“We don’t know if she’s donated any money to the search fund…” Is that what giving money to George is called?

So…George is innocent, Casey is innocent, there was no duct tape on Caylee’s skull…

Let’s just leave these poor people alone.

Mystery, if it’s any consolation, I haven’t made up my mind as to the truth or non-truth of River Krystal’s claims.

Sure, it looks kind of bad that she has different names and a small rap sheet, but it’s all driving and payment related – not like she stole from anyone and her names appear to be from previous marriages and maybe the first names are nicknames or something.

Let’s face it – if George was going to engage in some hanky panky, he would be attracted to someone with a questionable background (more so than this woman’s, in my opinion). Look at his current friends – Dennis, Sherri, Brad – not exactly stellar examples of humanity.

And what kind of woman messes around with a married man – one with an unblemished record?

In my mind, her background and inconsistincies and her possible quest for money from the story make the entire thing way more believable than someone with an unblemished record.

Audultry is rarely the action of people with high moral fiber – so why is everyone looking for it in her?

  7. March 16, 2010 1:54 pm

everybody makes good points, I too am just going to wait & see what LE says, & Spacely, LOL! Your exactly correct! IF GA were going to engage in “Hanky Panky” it would be of someone of questionable character or small rap sheet. Too funny, but sooooooo true!

And why is Brad not denying the affair? He carefully denies KNOWLEDGE about money given to George, but not that she did give money. He casts aspersions on the dollar amount, but carefully avoids using exact numbers.

“George denies any sexual relationship and denies making the statement about Caylee’s death being an accident that snowballed out of control.” – Note that he does not deny an affair, nor that they had sex, just that they didn’t have a sexual relationship… whatever that really means. – Note that he denies the specific wording of the accident claim, not that he made comments in general about the death being an accident.

Attorneys are wordsmiths – they make their living using specific words and phrases in specific grammatical structure – Brad’s words are not chosen by accident – nor do they tell us anything.

    Wow Molly!

Doesn’t look good–of course, that doesn’t mean she didn’t have an affair with George or that he didn’t tell her what she claims. But, it certainly does make her questionable.

You are correct. Brad is just parroting what he’s been told. We will just have to wait and see how this all plays out. I keep going back to the fact that LE took her claims seriously enough to investigate.

Very good points, Spacely. I keep vacillating on this one. I think probably the affair is true, and it won’t matter one iota what she claims George said to her unless she can prove it.

You are exactly right–does anyone really expect a woman that would have an affair with a married man–in particular THIS married man— would be a candidate for the next Mother Teresa? Of course not. I’m pretty sure Brad and the Anthonys’ will do what they can to make her sound worse than she is.

I don’t believe in half-truths. Sure, a person can insert a fact into a lie, but that does not make it half-truthful – it makes it a complete lie, just like it was before they inserted the fact. Truth can be gleaned from lies, but they are still lies.

So, I would characterize what KC, Cindy, George, and Brad do as laborious lying – they expend a lot of labor inserting truthful bits to make their lies more believable – like a big ol’ chocolate chip cookie of lies – but then spend so much time baking it in the oven of public opinion, it always taste burnt… (Insert pic of Muppet Swedish Chef burning cookies here) 😆

Hi Mystery! Oh boy look at all the mess that Georgie has gotten himself into. I don’t know but I tend to believe these women are telling the truth about the whole affair. IMO, the whole alias names are irrevelant. Georgie doesn’t necessarily have a great track record of telling the truth about anything! When the stories came out about Georgie and his escort past time and now with this affair ( and others we are not privy to yet)JMO it is no wonder how Georgie tries to place all the blame on Cindy Anthony for not being able to place a firm hand of dicipline on KC, because he would always say that CA would always intervene and not let him reinforce any kind of rules for her to abide to and claims to have “tried” to countless times. yeah right! Ol’ Casey Anthony had too much trash on Ol’ Georgie to affirm any kind of parental authority in that household. Birds of a feather!!! KC pretty much had Ol’ Georgie’s ahem “goods” in a vice so to speak. That is not to say that CA didn’t have her own hold as well. I think Georgie was living his own “bella vita” on the side and with his “me, me, me” mentality, it served him well. I don’t think he was willing for anything to hamper his little private party. Why would he work if he has his little chicklets giving him money(which by the way I don’t think this woman was the first to “provide” for Georgie). Also the whole “snowballed out of control” comment from Georgie is typical. Why wouldn’t Georgie say that lie since this woman was nothing more that a temporary past time for him and he had to weave his little story the way he thought it should be seen by others. Even his first wife said he was a big liar. I hope his big fat lying mouth does get him in trouble somehow and that will somehow cause this to work together to get some kind of Justice for Caylee. Ol’ Brad is just Cindy’s puppet and has to obey his master so it doesn’t surprise me that now all of a sudden the money given to GA is now turned into a “donation.” I don’t know about you but this isn’t necessarily the greatest tactic since the “donations” haven’t been well spent by the Anthony’s.

We haven’t forgotten about you baby girl, your Justice is Coming even through all of this junk. JUSTICE FOR CAYLEE!!!!!

That is an interesting piece. Makes perfect sense why investigators would be so intensely following up on this woman’s story–and any other story that concerns George.
    The last sentence reads:
If George Anthony were to decide to change his story in favor of Casey Anthony, he could then be reminded that he could face serious consequences.

If puppet Brad is saying it was a donation for the search fund what was ol’ Georgie doing putting it in a private account? Oh what a tangled web Georgie weaves!!!!

For some strange reason I think that there will not be a lot accomplished tomorrow. Baez will find ways to snarl his way in and out of this scenario. I am so sick of this Bas…..I am not kidding. What a freak show this case has become. Everyone is getting rich of this story. I bet you money that it will take w e e k s to finally find out that there are NO text messages that could prove that GA said…..you know what.

  40. Spacely permalink
    March 17, 2010 12:21 pm

I think it all will rely on the phone records. If G phoned and texted her, there will be records that prove that. If she does live in a gated community that keeps visitor logs, there will be additional proof.

Once those things are proved, her story can and will be believed at face value. The prosecution does not need to bring further proof as her testimony is evidence acceptable in a court.

The problem is even if we take everything she says at face value, it is meaningless unless she has more detail. George may have said it was an accident, but that may be what he believed himself at the time.

Now, if she testifies that George said KC told him that, then that may establish that KC was involved in Caylee’s death by her own admission – even if it was a lie to cover up what really happened.

But that will not happen because she is already stating all she heard was it was an accident and George did not elaborate.

    Q. What information might the JAC and Strickland want to know from Anthony’s defense team?

    A. Orlando attorney Ed Mills, who defended one of the suspects in the beating deaths of six people in Deltona in 2004, said the JAC may want to know how much Baez has been paid.

Mills explained, hypothetically: If a lawyer was paid $100,000 for a death-penalty case and now the attorney is asking the state to cover costs, a judge may tell the lawyer to dip into their own pocket to pay for the expenses.

Terence M. Lenamon, a Miami death-penalty attorney who was once part of the Anthony defense team, agrees.

“I would venture to believe that they are going to require Jose to disclose what moneys he’s received because that becomes an issue at hand,” Lenamon said.

“[Baez’s] got a responsibility going into this case of making sure that he maximizes his money that’s being spent. If he didn’t do that, then the judge is going to hold him accountable to that.”

may I please post this here? Thanks.

Hurricane, I don’t know who you are….but make no mistake about it, I do not feel sympathy for the anthony’s. I have children & I have a total of 9 grandchildren. I would NOT wash evidence, obstruct evidence, throw away evidence, or interfere in any way in an investigation that involved my children IF one of my grandbabies was missing.

I would NOT drive home a car that “smells like a dead body is in it”, I would have called 911 & had them check everything out. I would not have TOUCHED it! Once I smelled that, I would have called them in order NOT to contaminate evidence. The ants knew better than to touch that car.

I would NOT have washed my daughter’s clothing in the car!

I would NOT have cleaned up the car.

cindy tells 911 she *just* found her daughter who was *missing* or who she *had not seen* in 31 days. When they went to pick up the car, HOW did they know that Caylee & casey were fine?

For all they knew, they BOTH could have been killed in a carjacking or something, right? Driving the car home & cleaning up the evidence in the car would have washed away important evidence & they would not have been able to find the killer as a result of that.

However, the first thing they did when they found the car was thow away trash at the tow yard & drive it home & start cleaning it up! That in itself tells me they both KNEW casey was fine. I promise you that f they did NOT know casey was fine they would have called 911 immediately! NOPE…their covering up mistakes were obvious to everyone from the beginning.
