Judge Strickland rules Casey Anthony indigent!

March 19, 2010

Judge Strickland has ruled that the taxpayers of Florida must pay court costs for Casey Anthony.

Bam! Just like that.

I’m finding it a little difficult to believe, considering how Baez didn’t even keep track of the hours he’s put into the case, that he could have presented Strickland with enough documentation overnight showing exactly where the excess $165,000 went?

I guess it doesn’t matter now, because like it or not, the the folks in Florida will be picking up the tab.

Judge Strickland’s ruling:

Bam! just like that is right mystery, just shaking my Head.
There is a good Side to all of this, from now on the Defense has to account for every Dollar
or Penny they spend in this Case!
I guess the Judge had really no Choice but to grant this Motion , he just wanted to make sure
there will be no Reason in the Future for the Defense to cry Foul, he had to make sure
Casey A. Rights were protected. Do I personally like it, heck no, but I sure in the World
don’t want her to get off on a legal Technicality.
I guess she is sitting in her Cell and enjoying this Moment, she might as well. The Day will come when she will have to face up to what she has done to her own Daughter, I have absolutely no Doubt about that!
Also I thought it was ridiculous how Casey presented herself in Court, You would have thought she was watching a Comedy Show by all the Faces and Smirks she made.
Maybe she needs a Reminder it is HER who is on Trial for murdering her Daughter and nothing at all is funny about this, I guess she must think she is a Celebrity, very misguided in my Opinion. A Reality Check would be in Order for Casey A. Someone has to pay for Caylee’s Murder and I would say it will be the infamous Casey Anthony despite what her new Attorney may think. JMO

I think Judge Strickland really had no choice but to rule in favor of the defense. Upon conviction (and she will be convicted), without the financial assistance of the state, Casey could win an appeal due to ineffective counsel. Nobody wants to have to try this lunatic twice. That would be a real waste of money.

what a dissapointment!but the good side, later on she dont cant appeall does she dont get the money!when i am live in florida ,i am on the street and protest!
but i have something, makes you all smile!

ORLANDO, Fla. — Casey Anthony celebrated her 24th birthday March 19 from behind bars, but she won’t be buying herself any gifts.

Casey’s jail account is empty; in fact, she owes 79 cents.

Casey’s parents have deposited $150 in her account this month, but she’s already spent it all.

Yep, we all knew it was going to come down to this–Heaven forbid anyone even gives a whisper of a hint that Casey Anthony’s rights are being violated.

I don’t think Casey Anthony has any grasp on the reality of her situation at all. I believe she fully believes she will live to party another day. From what I’ve seen of Mr. Mason, he certainly won’t be offering her any reality checks, so I guess she might as well live in her bubble while she can. Karma will get her soon enough!

Mr. Mason is going to bring Casey down a notch or two, or three, or four, now that the financial issue has been ruled on. He is not going to spin facts for her, and I bet I am right.

Yeah, I know….Still sucks, though. I’m not surprised by the ruling, I’m surprised that Baez came up with the accounting of where the money has been sent so fast–and that Strickland found that accounting sufficient.

It’s just hard to take in these rough times of high unemployment, high taxes, and all the other sacrifices the Regular People have to make.

Hi Mystery , i like that Bam word and i am like you on how did Bozo get it all together overnite and it got all signed today ? First thought that comes to my head is J.S. doesn’t have the strength nor want to waste time on trying to figure out the deceit of Bozo and how far back it would have to take him to unravel it all, so he figured the idiots have spent it all so let’s just declare this liar indigent and get on with it. We knew he would have to declare her indigent anyway no matter what. Casey was so giddy in court and we all know why, her new gun buster Lawyer. She thinks now she is definitely walking out of this free as a bird. she is dead wrong. I was watching her picking at her hands and patting her hair and smoothing her hair yesterday until she was making me nuts and i thought, if somone gave her a huge fuzzy teddy bear to hold at trial she would pluck that sucker bald within 30 minutes. lol. I just cannot wait for the trial to start.

Do I have the right to scream mistrial when my tangible tax bill comes in? NO! Or appeal it? (Yea, but it wouldn’t do any good.) This just stinks! She can be reported. Any income is supposed to be reported. If it’s a gift you have a certain limit (not sure what it is right off hand, don’t get gifts of larges sums of monies). Doesn’t matter if you spent it, it’s capital gains, at least the $200,000 is. Plus she may have sales tax issues as she sold goods, or at least a good, as she sold the copyright to the pics and videos. Got to go to the accountant’s next week, so I can ask, but in the mean time for a quicker answer………Any IRS agents or accountants in the house???

there is a Question I have, if Casey only needs Money for Expenses etc. for her fancy Defense team but doesn’t need Help to pay her Attorney’s, does that mean that all those Attorneys on her Defense Team work Pro Bono that is really hard for me to swallow. I don’t believe All of them are doing this out of the Goodness of their Hearts. Ok. even if there would be only One who gets paid where does Casey A. get the Money from? I would think either You can pay for the Defense or You can’t but I guess in her Case any thing goes whatever the little Princess wants she gets, god forbid should her legal Rights be messed with!
I would think every body who is accused of Murder One should have a Right to a Defense Team like Casey Anthony has, obviously You don’t need to have the Means to pay for it, just do what Casey did and cry foul every chance You have and let the Tax payers pay for Your fancy Defense, I am sure any Attorney would be honored to defend an accused Murderer
for Free. Obviously in the real World it doesn’t work that way, so the Question I have why does it work for Casey Anthony.
This Case is becoming unbelievable and sickening to follow. The only Reason I still stay with it is because I have followed it from the Beginning and I want to see Justice served for murdered precious Caylee and see the Person responsible for her Murder get what is coming to her. JMO

If you can not pay your taxes.

“Relax. You’re not alone, and your plight is not unusual. Moreover, you’re not going to jail. There are criminal penalties if the Internal Revenue Service can prove (the burden of proof is on the agency) that you intentionally didn’t pay your taxes, but we’ll assume that’s not the case here. You just ran low on cash, and nobody goes to jail just because they owe money — even to the IRS.”

Well, what if you are already in jail, do they let you out to work??? OR, do you make license plates in jail and pay it off? What if you are on death row, oh never mind that’s silly.

Defense attorney Cheney Mason said claims made by Casey Anthony and Baez that Caylee was alive will now work against them at trial.

“Then all the talking, all the press interviews and the parents going on this show and that show and the lawyer going on different shows establishes they have no credibility whatsoever,” Mason said.

“You can pretty well predict there’s going to be a life sentence, either a plea and get it over with or have a circus trial and then be convicted and get life,” Mason said.

I don’t mind paying for the prosecution but I do mind paying for the defense also, shouldn’t have to pay for both. I also think because she was really under the support of her parents and not out on her own making money and paying taxes on it, the parents should be looked at it as a means of payment, yeah right!

Dependents of parents who break the laws are often held accountable but the parents are forced to pay for everything.

    I feel the same, John!

I think the parents you are speaking of who are held accountable have children that are under age. I’ve never heard of parents being held responsible for their adult kids.

    bozo release a statemant

Today, the court granted the defense team’s motion to determine Casey Anthony as indigent for costs. The defense is pleased that this ruling came after an analysis of supplementary documents detailing the defense’s income and expenditures, which were deemed by the court to meet the legal standards for the determination of indigency for costs. After consistent misinformation from legal analysts, bloggers, and commentators, the defense hopes this ruling ends inappropriate speculation regarding any misuse of funds and looks forward to Miss Anthony’s day in court

Defense lawyers have no moral compass……remember Garagoes did the same thing regarding Scott Peterson. Made statements of his guilt then turned around and defended him…….we saw how much good that did. It’s the same with Mason and the outcome will be the same.

I think Cindy and George are running another con…..I think there are government programs out there to avoid eviction. Where did they get the money to hire another lawyer?

Defense lawyers say they are doing a necessary service by representing people like Casey Anthony. They don’t have to believe in their client–they just have to believe that everyone is entitled to a defense. While I, of course, agree with that premise, I don’t agree with the personal “game” it becomes for many defense attorneys to get even the worst of the worst off.

Quite interesting that baez felt he had to release a statement about the indigency ruling. He wants everyone to stop talking about him now. 😆

Who’s he kidding? He draws attention on purpose.

Richard Hornsby doesn’t think “Beez’s Accountability” will be released to the public because the documents weren’t filed. I find this irksome & hope the taxpayers of Fla. demand this by calling constantly & writing letters. Because Judge S is satisfied doesn’t mean “others will be satisfied.” I wonder if anyone was there from the JAC?

Yeah, I wonder if the JAC was there, too. I’m assuming they were? I think Casey Anthony would have been declared indigent even if Baez had brought his accounting in scribbled on Big Chief Writing tablet. (anyone remember those?)

They won’t be released because this issue will go straight to the Bar.

Bozo wants us to quit blogging so the attintion gets off of him,
we need to keep blogging to bring the attintion on him…there is something not right with his proof of spendings…

Guys that don’t want the attention don’t go in front of cameras or issue statements saying they don’t want any attention!

I wonder how KC’s nights have been since the facts about the letters came out, wonder what the jail gaurds now think of her. I hope she got no rest.

I hope she’s upset, but I doubt it!
